I want to keep the doctors I know and trust and many of them are not taking the MAPLynne Cohen (Fresh Meadows, 2022-03-14)

I'm signing because I taught 17–21-year-old students in District 79, Alternative Education, for close to 30 years for a fraction of what my suburban counterparts were earning, because I was promised NYC would provide Traditional Medicare and Secondary benefits when I turned 65. Please do not renege on this very important promise for us retirees who have worked our hearts out and lent money to NYC in its times of need now that we are in our times of need.Thank you.

I want to not only keep seeing the doctors I have established relationships with, but I don’t want to have to worry that every procedure my doctor orders will be scrutinized as to it’s necessity. Just like Teachers should teach reading, doctors should be the ones determining what care I need.Myra Rose (East Brunswick, 2022-03-14)

The Medicare Advantage plan is not comparable to the plan I have now. It requires pre-approval for every test and procedure which my husband’s doctor orders. This is not acceptable.Marilyn Parker (Brooklyn, NY, 2022-03-14)

It’s unethical and unfair to renege on the health care coverage for retirees without them having a vote in the precess. If the city and unions want to negotiate something for future retirees, that’s fair. But this is unfair to current retirees.Stuart Belsky (Jupiter, FL, 2022-03-14)

Remember you will be a retiree someday. A few years ago, my union the UFOA, required me and my wife to pay $45.00 per month each for prescription coverage. They also raised my dues from $3.00 a month to $9.00 per month. Slowly they are chipping away at my benefits. This MAP would be a huge hit on benefit reductionRobert Wallen (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

As per my retirement package, all NYCDOE retirees were provided with the ability to choose their health care package and not be required to relinquish Medicare and accept a substandard HMO plan that was not negotiated nor approved by current retirees.Joan Monroe (NYC, 2022-03-14)
#1280
Our unions are trying to take away the health benefits agreed upon in the past. They are trying to make us pay for the benefits we've had because we don't want the new plan that is questionable. I don't want to try anything different from what we have now. I don't trust that they are considering what is in our best interests. I think it is a deal they made for their own best interest.Lynn Halligan (BROOKLYN, 2022-03-14)

I worked for the city my whole life. Now they ste trying to take away my health care at this stage in my life. Shame on them. I am appalled that a Mayor would is supposed to care about NYC workers would now want to take our health care choice away from us. I believe this absolutely violates the contract we signedKnowing that it would violate the contract we served and retired under!

We need to keep our GHI Senior Care health insurance because of the many serious health issues that my husband has. He cannot have insurance where prior approval is needed for doctors' visits and medical tests. He cannot wait days before getting what his doctor needs done to keep him healthy. I retired over 11 years ago and financially we cannot afford to pay $400 a month for health insurance that was promised at no extra charge back then. Even the $15 co-pays are a burden at this point in our lives as the older we get the more we must see doctors. Many of our doctors will not be accepting the advantage plans that the City has put forth. This fact also weighed on our decision to keep our senior care. Please listen to us Mayor Adams.E Knipfing (ROCKVILLE CENTRE, 2022-03-14)

It is extremely unfair to the retired people to create extra complications dealing with health issues by postponing vital treatments and surgery. Please be understanding to people working all their life for the City and relying on the promised and safe Health plans

As a retiree for over 17 years with health issues, this map will limit the doctors I can see I am on a fixed income, and choosing whether I could buy food or meds, will only cause more stress,c as I am 76 years of age, and when I retirees, I was promised health coverage at no additi9nal costBarbara Rons (Palm coast, 2022-03-14)

Healthcare is so important. The coverage we have was promised to us by the city. The changes would push us into a free but awful plan. It isn't medicare. It is a private insurance company. Opting out of that bad plan would cost people almost $200 a month. There has to be a better way.Mary Olender (Carmel, 2022-03-14)

I’m signing because Medicare Advantage is not Medicare. Despite the promises, we will have a for profit company making medical decisions. I am signing because, as a retired NYC school teacher, then administrator for 42 years, I feel that it is both unjust and immoral to “change the rules of the game after it has already started.” To treat those who have. worked so long, hard and well for NYC is a disgrace and, truthfully, illegal. Leave your retirees’ health care plan alone!John Hartnett (Long Beach, 2022-03-14)
