I don't want this to happen

I do not want to see such a genuinely close community of Coolowen Stoneview Whitchurch being divided by a Motorway. Many extended families living in this area and you’ll be wiping out there homes

John Kidney (Cork, 2021-01-12)

I oppose the M20 navy route because it destroys our natural countryside and family homes and farms needlessly
A better use of public money would be to upgrade the N20 ie. land already CPO ed

I am not against progress and the fact that infrastructure requires improvement, however I think using the navy route for this motorway would be ludicrous, as it would mean destroying farmland, communities and ripping up a greenbelt that preserves wildlife and eco systems. I would propose to use a route that is already urbanised and has the capacity to incorporate new infrastructure to accommodate the M20. Many years ago the council wanted to back fill with concrete the blarney clonmeelan sanctuary on the blarney walk. A local activist fought to preserve this land and it is to him that a great debt of gratitude is owed today that this beautiful walk can be enjoyed by everyone and that this land was not destroyed. Please hear our voice as we need to preserve our land and nature for the next generation coming up as we have in the past benefited from somebody being our voice and helping to protect the sanctuary of the land then. Thank you

I object to the proposed Navy M20 route as a I believe it would be detrimental to community life and movement in the communities of Whitechurch, Blarney and Waterloo. I am a resident in Whitechurch over 15 years.

Tom Mullins (Dublin, 2021-01-13)

Im signing because of the waste of public money when existing road could be upgraded and the lack of information given to the local residents.

No need for 2 major roads, the existing N20 and proposed M20 navy route, from Cork to Mallow. The existing N20 road should be leveraged to its full use and with the least disruption to locals.
Not only will the navy route bring significant noise pollution, environmental pollution and a long term environmental cost but it will demoralise local farmers and communities! No to the Navy route!

Its a poor planning decision based on the fact that it shows lack of intregrated planning. Several new properties have been granted planning , built and now will have to be demolished. Waste of public funds, how can public planning be so dis-jointed. Is any one responsible. Case of somebody everyone and anybody. The state pulling down new houses when we should be using that money to build for the homeless .

It will affect the great community we have affect us getting or kids to school safe also affect every day life as we know it also nature and all it brings with it

This road will ruin many people's livehood and destroy their communities.

Margaret Curtin (Cork, 2021-01-15)

#1309

The proposed location of the motorway is very closely adjacent to my cousin's home in Coolowen, Blarney. The peace and tranquility of the area will be so negatively impacted by the proposed location of this motorway. Surely it can be positioned less closely to family homes.

The proposed Navy route will cut us off from our main service village of Blarney and will divide the community. I have a current commute time of 70 minutes. The proposed Navy route will increase my commute time by at least 15 minutes. It is a waste of money and will cause unnecessary local opposition resulting in years of protests, delays and legal challenges. It makes no sense to build a new motorway alongside a national road with a dual carriageway that could easily be upgraded with minimal impact. This proposal will be a PR disaster for the 2040 infrastructrure plan in the Blarney and Whitechurch areas.

I am concerned about the people who have to give up there family home and the impact on the environment what’s wrong with upgrading the existing infrastructure

For survival, we now need more nature, not more cars and roads

Lisa Brooks (Cork, 2021-01-25)

This would dramatically and negatively affect many local communities and there are better options available to the planners
