The government should be held responsible for the situation that these people are in.

Ruald De Bruyn (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1018

People deserve decent housing and by allowing illegal squatter camps you are destroying their dignity and the environment. The government has enough ground to provide decent housing and the missing ingredients are people working and not being paid to be at work and an end to corruption. Your illegal squatter camp is a disgrace to the country and a attack on the dignity and human rights of all its citizens.

Mike Knowles (Petoria, 2020-07-20)

#1025

This is a crime nest and will devalue the area , it is also an ecological sensitive area they are using.

Janine Harrison (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1040

Informal settlers does not have any basic care and services. They are staying there under inhumane conditions, and harm what should be a protected area.
Also, any illegal occupying of land should not be allowed.

Petrus Britz (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1041

There is no infrastructure for squatters there and the land needs to be protected as well.

Carla Ferreira (Tshwane, 2020-07-20)

I believe it will cause more crime in the area.

Carlien De Beer (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

Wolwespruit should be a protected area.

Martin Koorts (City of Tshwane., 2020-07-20)

#1062

The Informal Settlement located at the Wolwespruit continues to expand unchecked. It is against the law. There are no services (water/sanitation) available. Inhuman living conditions

Wilna Bester (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1065

The crime goes up as soon as a informal settlement is formed near the formal suburbs especially the house breaking. The streets are unsafe to drive especially at night.

Hester Engelbrecht (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1067

It is a issue of safety for residents in the area

Laura Samson (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1077

Wetlands should be protected. Who are these land grabbers, illigal immigrants?

Mariana Fritz (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1078

1. Im a community member and wish for safe environment for my clild to love in.
2. We do not support illigal land grabs
3. IF the situaiton is not ocntrolled we will land up with a large informal settlement to the liking of primose, we moved away for safety not to lan up in the same situation
3. The settlement affects the property value
4. The people living there illegally do not have access to basic human rights
5. Over the years the people have been moved from one side of the road to move into hte otehrside and expand further.

Sam Ransley (Rietvalleirand, 2020-07-20)

I also want to protect this very sensitive area. We HAVE to look after our wetlands, if we carry on like we do currently, all these will soon be gone forever!

Eurika Du Plooy (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1133

Informal settlements should not be allowed. No services or facilities, so sewerage and rubbish contaminate natural resources. Poor living conditions with high risk of fires, like Plastic View for example. Illegal activities such as shebeens, growing of dagga plants, rape and murder - Plastic View as an example once again. Once an informal settlement is allowed to establish, it is extremely difficult to move the squatters off of the land. Illegal dumping also becomes a problem. Municipal by-laws are not enforced, so the community as a whole is affected.

Nicolette Claassen (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

#1134

Love the little nature we have left and l cycle there regularly.

Ryan Durham (Pretoria, 2020-07-20)

We need to protect this land for the wildlife

Melissa Anne Aucamp (Centurion, 2020-07-20)

I pay taxes, and do not think that informal settlements belong in the suburbs. Government should make provision for these types of settlements and provide essential services in suitable areas.

#1158

My parents stay in Erasmuskloof and I am concerned about their safety

Leana Labuschagne (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

#1160

The more the settlements expand, the more our neighbourhood are prone to more crime and loss in value of property. I agree to remove these settlelers and send them back to where they come from, it is public ground and not living space. The people also litter and make waste of this area.

Heinz Benninghoff (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

#1162

I have property and a business close by. This is a wetland and needs to be protected. Currently waiste water and other waist is contaminating the area. Crime is increasing. Noise is increasing. Air pollution due to fires. Risk of veldfires due to uncontrolled burning of rubbish and other fires.

Erika Human (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

#1168

This has become a severe security risk

Johan Van Schalkwyk (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

The settlement is doing harm to the ecological habitat, brings danger to those that run and ride at the Wolwespruit area.

William Dicks (Elarduspark x7/Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

Marionette Peens (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

Irma Blignaut (Pretoria, 2020-07-21)

#1200

Informal settlements are attracting undesirable characters which creates an opportunity for crime in the surrounding areas. We no longer feel safe walking in the streets. We sold our freestanding home because of the crime, and moved to a security estate.
