1 - I do not feel that this issue was sufficiently and openly discussed before its implementation2 - The more wealthy people are able to move off grid, which has led to the electricity companies making less revenue. Hence this surcharge is effectively a tax on the poor.
3 - If Johannesburg City was attempting to benefit its citizens in the same way that Cape Town was (always one stage less on loadshedding sue to sourcing alternative power), then maybe, just maybe one could even contemplate supporting such a move, but nope...

I am a resident in Florida park, ward 70 and we constantly have electricity issues, however, if we don’t and surrounding areas do, we get switched onto road rotations for them to have electricity , with the rotations constantly being in their favour! Our electricity goes off 30 minutes prior to when it should and comes back more than an hour over the time scheduled!
