Health care was guaranteed to us while we were employed. I do not want a profit making company to take over my health care; one that is involved in a lawsuit no less for stealing from the government.

Sue Friedman (Long Beach, 2022-03-14)

Any change to Medicare must not penalize the current benefits we now have.

Promises were made to employees and those promises are being broken by the formulation of this new health plan!

Lila Alexander (Merrick, 2022-03-14)

I feel strongly about my healthcare and never felt my union would turn its back on us or the city would thank us for our service by taking away our healthcare options. Please listen to our concerns!

I want to keep the original Medicare and the supplemental Senior care without the penalty

Having to wait for pre-authorizations for tests and procedures would put my health and my husband's health at risk. Many of my doctors will not accept MAP.

NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan Is not a helpful plan for all of us eligible for Medicare. Leave our plans in place and don’t appeal the judge’s decision.

I am a 73 year old widow and NYC retiree who would suffer financially to pay the increase cost of $191.00 to keep my GHI Senior Care Insurance Part C (now free) on effect.
I appreciate and value feel grateful to have traditional Medicare Parts A, B and C and at my age considering that I am at risk for developing more acute and chronic medical illnesses and conditions as time goes by, this coverage is critical to me accessing quality healthcare . Just last week I was diagnosed with a mass on my thyroid. What peace of mind I had being able to immediately contact and schedule an appointment to see a specialist almost immediately and know that any further testing and surgery needed would not require prior approval. Mayor, certainly you can identify with the need to act fast and independently on ones own behalf. And you must know the fears that come along with losing that independence due to illness, aging or lack of good and proper health insurance. I consider myself quite able to run my own life at this time. Please help me preserve my dignity and independence in managing my own healthcare. Seriously, We need you to put that managed care program to sleep. In doing so you will help us retirees to sleep at night, awake in dignity and maintain our independence and ability to make medical decisions with our doctors, and not with "Big Business." It's preservation we need, not reservation. Save our GHI Senior Care as it is written and free for NYC Retirees. Sincerely, Linda Rizzotto

As retirees who worked long and hard and for less pay we continue to deserve to receive our present health insurance as we signed on for so many years ago and as seniors that is:Original Medicare Parts A & B and supplemental Emblem Health. Please do the right thing Mayor Adams and respect the decision of Judge Lyle and please do not the appeal and acknowledge the inferiority and shortcomings of The NYC Medicare Advantage Plan.

Lee Jacobson (Forest Hills, 2022-03-14)

Please don't take away health care that we were promised. I loved my job and worked hard helping my kids to be the best that they could be. Now it's my turn to take care of me the best that I can.

Rosalind Sposato (Merrick, 2022-03-14)

I’m a recent cancer survivor and my Traditional Medicare and Senior care allowed me to get all the services and medical treatments I needed to stay alive. I want to live and follow the instructions my team of doctors recommend, not a for profit insurance company with a history of deny and delay.

Michelle Steinberg (Woodbury, 2022-03-14)

Medicare Advantage plans are notoriously inferior to Traditional Medicare with Supplemental Medigap coverage. I paid into Medicare for 41 years. NYC has no right to deprive me of what I have earned. There are many options to save the city money in its health costs which do not illegally deprive us of our rights guaranteed by collective bargaining agreements and the city's administrative code.

JACK BARSHAY (NEW YORK, 2022-03-14)

#849

I'm signing this because healthcare is important to me. I need to be assured that I can get the future care that I need in a timely fashion and don't have to worry about shopping around for someone who will take less than they currently get from our health plans. I've seen the effect of waiting for pre-approvals and possible declining a procedure on friends' health outcomes.

Alexis Penzell (New York, 2022-03-14)

I want a choice of health plans. Not Advantage plan

Toby Ulman (Yonkers, 2022-03-14)

#855

MAPP is a violation of my original terms of employment. As someone who holds a Master In Public Health, and was an employee of the Dept of Health, I know Medicare Advantage Plans to be inferior to standard Medicare.

Deborah Antonaccio (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

It is of utmost importance that the retired NYC employees keep their current medical plan without additional costs. Please work with us and stop the city appeal I have worked for the city since 1970, am now retired and must have my current insurance without the extra huge cost $191 per month

Barbara Mogelof (New York, 2022-03-14)

Unions sold us out !!!!

This just wrong. When I was hired almost 30 years ago I was told i would Insurance for the rest of my life and not have to pay!!

Mary Anderson (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

#876

I just think that it is wrong to force all NYC’s over 250,000 retirees to leave Medicare plus a medigap plan, which they were promised when they retired, into a questionable Medicare Advantage plan that not all of their physicians may take, and that have numerous pre-approval requirements not part of traditional Medicare or, if they choose to opt out, require them to pay almost $200/month (or $400/month for a retiree and dependent.)

James Drinane (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#877

I am a retiree that expected to continue to receive promised retiree benefits

Charles Niessner (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#882

I want to keep original Medicare and Senior Care as my health insurance, premium free

Florence Fahey (Great Neck, 2022-03-14)

#885

Retirees, whose health care needs are greater as we age, will be hurt by the new plan, and it shouldn't be forced on us--or else pay extra for what we already have. Our current plan with Medicare plus supplemental coverage works well for our needs. This bait and switch tactic, used on people who worked hard for the City for many years, is shameful.

Leila Rosen (New York, 2022-03-14)

#888

I don’t want the mayor to appeal the judges decision. Want to keep my regular Medicare plan. No MAP

Aileen Chesyer (New York, 2022-03-14)

#889

I’m signing this because I gave 25 years of service to NYC. We all took many hits of very low raises and looked forward to our retirement years of everything that was promised to us. This is the thanks we get? Robbing us of one the key benefits we all need in our golden years, shame on all!

John Kennedy (Holtsville, 2022-03-14)

#890

This is very important. Retirees are deserving of what they were promised

trudy lieberman (New York City, 2022-03-14)

#891

This is a terrible move for the city to take. As a retiree who gave the best of her life, as an RN, in service of the underserved of NYC in the South Bronx for 35 years, I deserve what was promised. To go back on this promise of the continuous healthcare we choose, is unacceptable. The city has thrown away its valuable resource, it's elderly retired people like me. The unions don't care and we know deals were made behind closed doors and without a word from those we once trusted.
I used to be proud of NYC. To be able to carry out my career mission as a healer, was my blessing. Eventhough the last few years were really bad, it was worth it to all those I helped regardless of race, color or creed. I had a choice to work under much better conditions, making much more money. But where I was was where I could do the most for people who were like me.
The city needs to do the righteous thing and just be decent and fair. A society is measured on how it treats its very young and old. NYC needs to be of good measure and stop this appeal and restore its humanity. Thank you.

Rosetta Jenkins (NEW YORK, 2022-03-14)

Whats right seems not to apply anymore in our society. We need to keep our values, morals, and health as a priority for all Americans. Govern in good faith please.

Jesus Suris (Monroe new york, 2022-03-14)

#896

The MAP is an inferior plan compared to the senior health plan I was promised when I retired.

Evelyn Malz (Manalapan, 2022-03-14)

#899

I do NOT believe we should be charged monthly penalties to keep our current contractually earned retirement medical benefits or be forced into a plan that is less comprehensive. You should go back to the negotiating table and start over with retiree representitives included.

Martin Golden (Longbeach, 2022-03-14)

#900

Worked 21 years for city promised to keep my health insurance till death. New MAP is horrible.

Scott Whitaker (New York coty, 2022-03-14)

When I retired the city contract said I would be entitled to health benefits for life free of charge.

Steven Gassert (Deer park, 2022-03-14)

I live on a very limited pension and SS. I’m still paying off school loans and will be paying them off to the grave. I cannot afford any more expenses. I have medical issues that require persistent care. Please do not condemn me to an early death.

Mary Miranda (Delray Beach, 2022-03-14)

#906

We need our health coverage. Health insurance is more important now than ever before . In this Covid 19 climate people are extremely vulnerable. Please leave our health benefits alone.

I am signing because I want the mayor to keep to his word. We should have a choice whether we join the Afvsntsgr plan or not. Please don’t tell me it’s a better plan ; it simply is not. Please allow me to
Keep my current plan.

Elma Reingold (New York city, 2022-03-14)

#911

I want to keep the same coverage at no cost as guaranteed upon my retirement

Howard Hahn (Woodmere, NY 11598, 2022-03-14)

#912

During my 32 year career, for many years my NYPD paystub showed my bi-weekly contribution to pay for Medicare, it did not say "Medicare or a substitute if available". Not fair to bait and switch plans on thousands of dedicated NYC employees. Who else could do that?

Thomas Sandseth (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

#913

Retirement is a time when stable health care should not be renegotiated for less. A turn over to greasy health care insurance co start slowly an then the diminution will continue take backs.

Thomas Woods (Teaneck nj, 2022-03-14)

#914

I don’t want Medicare advantage. It is a horrible choice.

Cynthia Lewis (North Palm Beach, 2022-03-14)

#916

Health Care should not be privatized and NYC has made a promise to us to keep the plan we have...with no changes

Sheila Palevsky (New York, 2022-03-14)

#919

Retirees retired with the knowledge these benefits were earned..that is part that weighs in on retiring...you do not alter this agreement with personnel retired for xx amount of years..you make adjustments and understandings for new retirees from this point forward so they too can make informed decisions...

Joel Friedman (Manchester Township, 2022-03-14)

#923

I need my GHI and Medicare to remain the same. Stop targeting seniors. Target the ones that are still working. No one asked the city to spend foolishly.

Elayne Hassen (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#924

I would like to keep my Medicare and Senior care and NOT be transferred to any Medicare Advantage Plan now or in the future

Robert Howell (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#931

I beleive it is an injustice to change the health plan we were hired under, to a MAP plan that no one wants free or not. Leave current retirees and people currently on there city jobs grandfathered in. And offer as a term of employment the MAP PLAN TO NEW HIRES.

Mark Demay (New york city, 2022-03-14)

#932

I want to keep my current medicare plan and the health insurance the city agreed to provide me with when I retired.

Steven Kaplan (Floral Park, 2022-03-14)

#935

The Advantage Plan has many pre-authorizations that slow down my health care. I also do not like a private sector company running my health care. I want a Medigap type policy preferably with no-pays like we had before all these years. Please let the aged people alone and allow them the dignity to choose the plan they prefer.

Barry Skolnick (Rochester, mn, 2022-03-14)

#940

I’m signing this because not appealing Judge Frank’s decision is the moral thing to do.
Thank you.

Joanne MacDonald (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#942

Asking the City (Mayor) to drop the appeals process regarding the new MAP plan and let retirees keep their existing coverages with incurring additional costs.

Allan Prescott (Staten Island,, 2022-03-14)

#943

We cannot afford to pay for our health benefits which were promised to us once we retired. We accepted lower wages in order to have these benefits and now you are treating retirees as second class citizens.

Lois Myers (Bronx, 2022-03-14)

#949

I'm signing because when I retired it was with the understanding that my Medicare premiums would be paid by the city. The city shouldn't change the rules in the middle of the game.

Chris Kelly (Sayville, 2022-03-14)

#950

I wish the mayor will be behind the NYC retirees and do not appeal the court decision.

John Moran (Long Beach New York, 2022-03-14)

#953

Keep no cost health plans and choice of health plans

Thomas Reinhold (Point Pleasant, 2022-03-14)

#956

The $200 fee for keeping Senior Care is punitive. The MAP plan requires too many preapprovals. I want my doctor to prescribe the tests I need and not the insurance company. Many elderly retirees cannot afford to pay for senior care.

Adele Kaufman (Floral Park, 2022-03-14)

Want to stay in the plan I have been in since 2005, Medicare and GhI senior

Leonard Friedman (FORT MILL, 2022-03-14)

Chester Washington (New York City, 2022-03-14)

#966

The new health plan is not good

William Lederman (New Rochelle, 2022-03-14)

#969

I’m signing because as I grow older so too, do my health concerns. It would give me great peace of mind to know that I have the option of keeping traditional Medicare and that my supplemental GHI would remain premium free. In addition, I am concerned about my more elder colleagues who do access the internet. They will be unknowingly opted into a less advantageous health plan which could potentially deny claims.

Lisa Ortiz (New York, 2022-03-14)

#970

I am asking the mayor to keep the promise that was made to me and my brothers to provide free and viable health insurance upon retirement when I was began my career of 35 years with the NYPD

#974

We need affordable health care

Sharon Gross (East Meadow, 2022-03-14)

#979

Mr. Mayor,
You said the MAP plan was not a good thing, before elected. Now will you side with the unions and sell us Retirees out like they did.

Rafael Velez (east Stroudsburg pa., 2022-03-14)

#989

I’m signing because it is important to me to retain the benefits that I was told I would have when I retired. I have made many decisions based on that reliance.

Linda Woolverton (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

#994

I think that is only fair to have the health coverage that we were promised upon retirement. It is awful that the city now wants take it away.
