The mask is as worthless as Biden and no reliable data shows it is effective to any degree. On the contrary, studies such as the Denmark study show that masks are detrimental. As far as psychologically, masks are incredibly harmful and have had terrible results especially in younger people.
As for having airline personnel wear them, it is purely an exercise in conformity and stupidity.

As a crew member I find it completely unsafe to have my colleagues muzzled. Plane cabin is usually pressurized to 6000 to 8000 feet above sea level. Already reduced oxygen environment. Now in addition to that when they can't breath fresh filted air they become fatigued, hypoxic and less alert. This could result in a major disaster if the crew is not able to react promptly to an emergency. As physical and mental acuity deteriorates we ar all less safe when flying.
Plus this pointless mandate does nothing to prevent crew from touching and adjusting their mask 9 times a minute because they can't breathe.

The masks are good at something though. As an airline captain I’ve never had so many problems in the back of my flights. It is all stemming from mask noncompliance. The concept is nonsense anyway. Everyone must wear a mask till drinks and snack time when all the passengers take them off at the same time. People touch their masks incorrectly then put there fingers in their mouths defeating the whole purpose.

We in the industry have also seen a rise in flight attendants and passengers usurping the authority of the captain in their enforcement with violence onboard a flight.

The masks also cause a major health risk for flight crews and passengers. Very few people walk their masks daily so they’re bringing their “dirty face diapers” full of germs on board. We’re also all breathing through these contaminated masks.

Oxygen is another major concern. Being forced to run through an airport with your face covered correctly prevents you from getting enough O2. This has been proven in plenty of studies. We then stay covered up and take everyone to a less oxygenating environment at altitude. This is especially critical for the pilots. The FAA recommends supplemental O2 at altitudes above 5000 ft at night for accurate visual acuity. The cabin altitude in my jet is usually between 7000 and 8000 feet anyway. Now add a breathing restriction and lower oxygenation and you’ve compounded the problem. This is a safety risk for everyone onboard.

For these any many other reasons I can’t see any benefit to the continued mask mandates on commercial flights.

I totally agree severe and life threatening affects are a result of wearing these masks that do nothing. By the end of my flying day...Im.coughing and weezing and zip change my mask out at least once a day. It totally ignites my allergy induced asthma to kick in. I'm a flight attendant and ithe amount of unruly passengers is getting out of hand. We do our due diligence in instructing them about the mash mandate and all we get are insults retaliation and hostility, not to mention we ourselves are wearing these marks sometimes up to 15hrs a day. It's hard to make ckear announcements, can't breath good, headaches, dizziness not to mention you have passengers waiting with their phones to either video or take a picture of you if your trying to eat take a breath or drink anything to say we are not wearing masks why should they.
