There are enough roads already. We need to protect what's left.

The road will destroy the beautiful country side and will increase traffic and noise. There must be other options... the surrounding area and roads are not sufficient to support an increase in traffic, you will be destroying farmers livelihood.Shirley O’Mahony (Cork, 2021-01-04)

I am objecting to the Navy Route. I have grown up in this area effected and watched during the n20 construction as the rock was all broken. I don’t think it’s viable with all hills , rock, business, railway , historical landmarks ( fairy fort in Coolowen/stone view). Surely the existing n20 could be upgraded and minimise the impact to existing homes. It’s not fair on anyone to have this uncertainty hanging over there lives again.Denise O’Donovan (Cork, 2021-01-05)

My house, farm, land etc. would be affectedAva O’Dwyer (Limerick city, 2021-01-05)

This route would be a spectacularly expensive way to destroy irreplaceable wildlife and habitat. It's unnecessary and destructive and goes against governments own targets to reduce carbon emissionsSiobhan Fogarty (Jersey, 2021-01-05)

My community has supported My family & I through the hard times & celebrated with us through the great times. I do not want my community to be either divided or cut off. I want my children to love the community and walk our country roads & fields the way I did as a child.Lorraine Wilshaw (Cork, 2021-01-05)
#707
I regularly visit family and friends in that lovely part of the countryside and have been shown the proposed route by the very people who’s communities will be majorly affected by this developmentThe alternative options are there and I cannot understand why/how these options should not be used unless there maybe be other influences which some people/companies may not want it be known.
Please don’t tear up communities unnecessarily.
Tony Gorman (Dublin, 2021-01-05)

I'm sick and tired of our history and culture being eradicated.Pete Coyne (Galway, 2021-01-05)
#720
There is sufficient infrastructure in place, with three roads serving the same route. The land needs to be left untouched, enough has been decimated. There is no need for this, and uncountable numbers of habitats will be pillaged and destroyed, once again, if this goes ahead.Rebecca Keane (Claregalway, 2021-01-05)

Number 1-Our house will be affected. 5 generations have lived in this house which was only recently renovated also. Both next door neighbours are family also. Number 2- grandparents, sisters, brothers, friends like in Whitechurch so will be completing cutting us off from them. Number 3- our son goes to school in Whitechurch, plays sports their and this will cut off all of that too. Number 4- Zero correspondence with affected houses until issue was brought up and a hand delivered letter was left on doorstep. A disgrace.Laura Hurley (Cork, 2021-01-06)

As an Archaeologist I strongly object to the selection of this route. It compromises many local heritage sites and will also lead to the uncovering and potential destruction of many more sites of archaeological interest in the course of its construction across undeveloped land.Best options for any road improvement in this vicinty are to use / expand current route ways that have already undergone development/ Thereby mitigating the need for costly and potentially destructive actions on any undiscovered sites.

There is a functional road already in position which may just need to be upgraded. Unnecessary to potentially relocate or disrupte local residents for a road that is not needed.Paul O Callaghan (Cork, 2021-01-06)

To much of Ireland habitats are looked at as nothing of importance. The years t takes to grow an area like this cannot be copied in a short time. So leave these very important areas alone and leave wildlife alone because sometime in the near future we won't be hearing birds singing, watching cub fox's in the morning. So leave nature aloneDeclan Sweeney (Dundalk, 2021-01-07)
