Amina Bhikhoo (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6425

I am signing this petition because I don't afford to pay so much for electricity and find it disrespectful that the service provider just increase tariffs without consulting us who pay for electricity. There are other areas who are not paying even a cent but we (paying residents) get to be crucified for doing the good, noble deed.

Nosiphiwo Zingitwa (JHB, 2024-07-06)

#6426

I am already buying, water, electricity, paying levies and rent , at times I buy 200 electricity for the month now it will be going to the service instead of my electricity where will I get the other 200 to sustain my electricity ?

Xolisile Ramatla (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6432

I'm signing because of the fee of prepaid meters and the electricity units

PATRICIA Sakala (Gauteng, 2024-07-06)

#6433

We are all trying to survive, in a country we must keep giving and get nothing in return .

Paula Von benecke (Gauteng, 2024-07-06)

#6434

The additional tariff will place too much pressure on households already struggling with high interest rates and cost of living.

Lorenzo Nightingale (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6436

Most people who stay in Johannesburg locations are unemployed, surviving on sassa grant some estate late child headed households who are unemployed how are they expected to meet such high payments, even unemployed graduates survive on R350 grants with no jobs…

Lebogang Maele (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6454

I reject the new service fee

Bashir Karolia (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6458

Gugu Malembe (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

Sasha Chaza (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6469

I do not agree, with the overnight change of prepaid of R200 for what service,u do nothing ,and you people up there ,are draining the last penny out of people so you can get big salaries to fund your lux life .

Andries Kock (Krugersdorp, 2024-07-06)

#6471

This is ridiculous, everytime i buy units it is finish in one day. I hardly cook because im afraid if i turn on the stove units will be gone. Im a pensioner and really cant afford this. Wether i turn on the stove or not its the same. Its so unfair because other people are not paying a cent cos they are stealing electricity. If it was at least R50, but R200 , no no no. Tjo.

Rhoda Petrus (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6475

This is nonsense electricity is too expensive already on comparison to othwr countries just more money for them to steal

Dina 🆕 (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6476

We changed from city power normal charges to prepaid electricity, reason being so we can control usage. Every year electricity goes up and units are getting less, also if service providers are taking their cut already ,if city power is going to take extra r200 then many household are going to suffer. Thanks devang

Devangkumar Naik (Langlaagte north JHB, 2024-07-06)

#6479

I believe that the tariff increases are unfair way above inflation no consultation and in joburg there is an R200 equipment fee monthly absolute madness

Manku Noruka (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6482

This government is really getting out of hand.

Lulama Tembani (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6487

The fees of electric is too too high for us, we no longer can survive this

Koos Keorapetse Mogorosi (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6488

Location and address is NOT a true indication of economic viability. Poor and elderly people should be excepted from these increases. Just because I own a house I am taxed and not allowed to claim government pension but punished by property taxes and now increase in electricity

Daleen foot (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6490

I’m signing to withdraw the service fee implemented by NERSA and City Power

Siyabonga Khumalo (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6496

The R200 service fee

Santa Du Plessis (Gauteng, 2024-07-06)

#6497

The service fee is unreasonable while we get very low units

Tamia Smith (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6498

Am against of that 200 monthly service

Leonard Malema (Jhb, 2024-07-06)

Raymond Ndzo (Randburg, 2024-07-06)

#6507

Service fee is too high

Amanda Guqa (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6508

I feel the city has lost direction. It seems to think that it's only purpose is to extract money from residents. I also feel they are not being proactive with regard to the future direction of electricity generation and distribution. Instead, they penalise those who take matters into their own hands. This is evident with water and electricity (solar installation and prepaid)

Buff Thokoa (johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6514

Budget’s already tight, now I have to pay an extra amount for basically nothing?

Michael Marais (Linden, 2024-07-06)

#6515

The R200 on top of the already ridiculously expensive electricity is not okay. And being tax on the electricity that I've bought and the R200 fee is insane.

Olivia Angileri (Jhb, 2024-07-06)

#6518

This is crazy. I can’t afford this. They making access to electricity almost impossible!

Shaunie Thompson (Roodepoort, 2024-07-06)

Saige Allan (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6522

I signing because what city power do they want us to finance their corruption, it's unfair it is too much for us , now we should suffer more by increasing electric,

Mokone Patuwe Lazarus (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6524

I am signing this petition because I don't agree with this electricity money the city is charging... why must we pay extra when purchasing electricity. No to extra charges

Sindile Zitha (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6526

I cannot afford to pay as a single parent . The cost of living is ridiculous

Raquel Robson (Jhb, 2024-07-06)

#6533

It is beyond out of order to impose an extra high costs on electricity when other electricity tariffs are imposed - and all are done without consultation with residents. It’s also inexcusable that these costs conveniently come up now and weren’t a topic of discussion during the initial rollout of prepaid meters.
If money is needed from residents, discourse around these matters is essential, we have the constitutional right to pay and support or totally reject such costly proposals.

Zinhle Nako (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6534

Ridiculous money making scheme.

Refilwe Takasiwa (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6536

Nausheen Moosa (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6548

I am tired of paying for bad service and the unimproved state of our suburbs and towns, we need to see improvement before paying more. We pay for value not deterioration.

P Lambert (Randburg, 2024-07-06)

#6553

Electricity is expensive and price is already increasing

Rotondwa Mashau (Ormonde, 2024-07-06)

#6562

I am against the monthly R200 that city power want to steal from us

Justice Toba (Jhb, 2024-07-06)

#6563

It's a robbery with the prepaid electricity adding a fee onto of it.Prepaid is already cosing more than postpaid per kw and that should include the fee.

Johan Wolmarans (Roodepoort, 2024-07-06)

#6564

We can't afford electricity on a normal month, now you're taking more from us!

Kaylee Bower (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6596

I'm signing because the price per kW is already ridiculous, because all governments since 1999 have not maintained Eskom and now we as users get hit for extra fees because we want to control our own electricity in prepaid.
I say no to any additional connection charges and no to additional fees for zero maintenance

Jean-Pierre Confait (Greymont, 2024-07-06)

#6597

I’m a resident at COJ and I cannot afford to pay the service charge

Nqobile Gaga (Johannesburg, 2024-07-06)

#6600

I am signing because these increases should not be imposed on residents.

Management caused it. Management should fix it without involving hard working resistants who are already burdened.
