Long Island Seeks Change to a broken Healthcare System

There needs to be a change! I understand that it’s not feasible to have have three or four doctors on the island , but what I can’t understand is why the hospital in Exuma isn’t operational? It’s been what almost 10 years since the roof has been completed?

I grew up on a family island and I know what it’s like to have people close you die because they didn’t get proper/timely medical treatment.

I was born and grew up in Long Island Bahamas and i do believe that Long Island and every island in the archipelago of the Bahamas deserves to have a great health system in place and not have to depend on the Princess Margaret Hospital located in Nassau Bahamas for all their health issues. May God move in your heart to see fit to fix the broken health care system in Long Island.

It’s over due at this day and time in our country that we don’t have the bare necessities in our health system and that’s a shame 😢😭

I'm signing because this entire country needs to be developed. Make all the other islands just as developed as Nassau or even better I hope. Give the Bahamian people more options to turn to. We should be able to go on any God given island for service not just Nassau. It's old and tiring. Having to travel long distance with a dead person is inhumane! It's desensitizing Bahamians.

I am a Long Island homeowner and the residents need and deserve better healthcare facilities and service. Most people would even help and assist but with out resources we can’t.

A change needs to happen to save the lives of our fellow Bahamians, Residents and Tourist. The street lights are needed, emergency plans need to be in place, more medical equipments and supplies; more healthcare workers on the island and flights need to be possible whereas anyone can be able to save lives. If healthcare workers are on the island they can hop on any plane with the patients.

There seems to major delays in providing many critical services to most of the family islands. We pay taxes too. This is One Bahamas. All citizens are equal. All lives matter. This area of service is critical. Family Islanders are faced with many financial burdens just to get some of these services in Nassau. I feel that the Govt neeeds to offer some form of assistance especially with these medical emergency flights. Lets fight for Better.

The healthcare system in the family islands is unacceptable. Inhabitants should not have to fly to Nassau for care; it should be available on the islands.

The Bahamas is a chain of islands and it’s 2022 we need to have proper health care for all. Not just in Nassau and Grand Bahama we need to find a better system to get our people the care needed.
