DEMAND ACTION ON PROPOSED HIGH DENSITY DEVELOPMENTS IN WYNFORD / CONCORDE COMMUNITY

Comments

#407

I am signing because I am a resident of 205 Wynford Drive and will be directly impacted by these proposed developments

Jo Elaine Sudeikis (North York, 2021-10-22)

#409

This neigbourhood is too congested already. It cannot tolerate any increase in vehicular traffic let alone the burden of traffic generated by multiple skyscrapers.

Faye Campbell (North York, 2021-10-24)

#414

The traffic in the neighbourhood is already unmanageable and dangerous. When the snow arrives and the lanes become even narrower, there is just no way the area can support an additional 4 tall towers with a population increase of 8,000-22,000 residents.
The schools in the neighbourhood are already at capacity, where would children go?
The area is bordered by a natural ravine and forest area, I would hate to see that damaged for the sake of more condominiums in the neighbourhood.

Lesley Greenspoon (Toronto, 2021-10-27)

#417

I live in this area and feel this area cannot handle the excessive number of apartment units in this small area. There is not enough facilities or roads to support all the additional people.

Arthur Wiseman (North York, 2021-10-30)

#425

To proceed with the proposed buildings would demonstrate at the minimum, an obscene IGNORANCE and IRRESPONSIBILITY to your constituents.

Elizabeth richardson (North york, 2021-11-08)

#429

Height is out of control esp. for those living at 215, 205 and 195 Wynford.
Way too much traffic.
Too many people for this small area & one road.

Doreen Bendall (Toronto, ON, 2021-11-13)

#430

All the issues noted on the petition.

Don Smart (Toronto, 2021-11-13)

#431

I'm a resident of the area and the proposed development would overstretch the existing infrastructure, increase the traffic immensely and make the neighborhood very densely populated.

Abid Maredia (North York, 2021-11-13)

#433

THIS HAS TO STOP.. THE BUILDERS SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THE DENSITY AND TRAFFIC GRIDS THESE DEVELOPMENTS WILL CAUSE !!!

James Soans (Toronto, 2021-11-13)

#438

This proposal effects those that are living south of Eglinton as well. There is a glut of condos in the Younge/Sheppard area and the traffic there is horrible. We don't need more of that in this areas. The traffic is bad enough and I am not fooled that the LRT is going to do that much to ease the traffic from the number of people that will crowd this area once these condos are built.

Linda JOHNSTON (Toronto, 2021-11-15)

#439

I'm a concerned condo owner (since 1997) at 18 Concorde Place (suite #819), who is convinced from my research and from my past 20+ years of residing here that I will be undisputedly negatively impacted by:
1.) Drastically increased traffic density in what is an already highly congested hub/DVP access point in recent years
2.) Inevitable & new early-afternoon shadowing upon my NW facing/track-side condo & balcony, from such a tall (39~50+ storey) building towering immediately adjacent to existing, lower-rise 16 & 18 Concorde residencies...and,
3.) Ultimately & negatively impacting my property value, and appeal, as I approach retirement in what is currently a very suitable building & community to do so, however which this overzealous proposal in it's current ambitious state now threatens & tarnishes.

What are the Wynford/Concorde developers giving to the community? No doctor/medical facilities. No community support service. No public recreational facilities and limited green space within the buildings. Most of all there will be no schools. At the Don Mills/Eglinton development all the above service will be filled once it is fully occupied. With growth in population commuter traffic will be overwhelming. Open up southbound vehicle access to Don Valley Parkway from Wynford Road.

Anthony Ciaravella (Toronto, 2021-11-18)

#443

Too congested, not enough infrastructures and therefore totally inappropriate project in this neighborhood which would cause many concerns!

Antonina Dimitrova (Totonto, 2021-12-10)

#448

City Council has to made accountable to their neighbourhoods and citizens.

This development is a dangerous precedent of reckless "planning".

There clearly is NO plan for safety, schools or pedestrians.

Where are the plans for schools or community centres?

Please don't create another condo wasteland, like Yonge/Sheppard.

ILONA KOLCZE (Toronto, 2022-03-23)

#449

This planned community is outrageous. I live close by and find this completely unacceptable snd against all guidelines of the Don Mills community.

Shame on these greedy developers.

Concerned resident

Janine Viggiani (Toronto, 2022-03-23)

#453

I'm signing because I live across the street from this proposed development. This neighborhood is already plagued with excessive traffic even before other proposed developments (ex Celestica grounds) and others along Eglinton Ave come to fruition and this will only worsen the situation. It is too much development in too little space and not in keeping with the existing neighborhood. Furthermore why does the city have zoning guidelines and official development plans if developers are allowed to run roughshod over them?

James Miller (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#457

I live across from 1 site and believe the density /# of buildings will destroy the area

Robert Manson (North York, 2022-03-24)

#458

Mega towers destroy the community. I am 100% for developments that are tall such as 20 story's in centers and trickle down to 4 stories in low rise residential. These 30+ story building are a race to the bottom. This much density does nothing for the local community that has already invested. They steal the air rights of others. Think about your community, don't destroy north York.

Wesley Mccomb (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#465

We have too many new condos in this area!!!! Don mills and Eglinton and eglinton and Leslie also more buildings to come.

Susan Taylor (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#469

There is nothing to be gained by enlarging the community with more cars!! As it stands from 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm, there is gridlock on DVP. This highway is what most tenants/owners will use for work/pleasure. If traffic on the Don Valley Parking Lot is high travel now , then what we call gridlock, will become immobile mayhem!!!

Louise Fell (North York, 2022-03-24)

#474

I am signing because I live in this area and would hate to see this kind of density added to the quiet area.

Rick Stewart (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#477

I agree with the need for new development but this is way too excessive for the area and Eglinton traffic is already too congested...We need to maintain the tree canopy that this Don Mills is treasured for

Judy Cook (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#478

I too have expressed major concerns about the new development to both Denzil Minan Wong as well as the City of Toronto Development.

Chris John (North York, 2022-03-24)

#483

too much people in small space

Ranish Kadiwal (North York, 2022-03-24)

#485

I am an anti developmenter and hate the new stuff proposed

Anti Developmenter (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#488

I am a resident concerned with the amount of people that would clog the area.

NADIM KHIMANI (North York, 2022-03-24)

#490

This is too much development without amenities and very poor planning.

Lucy Falco (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#491

I actually oppose the petition. I'm just filling this out to add garbage to the results. Build the condos! Death to NIMBYs!

Die Nimby-Scum (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#492

BUILD THE CONDOS!!! We are in a housing shortage!!! These idiotic NIMBYs always oppose now housing. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!!!!

IHate NIMBYs (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#493

I do not accept this many units being built in my Neighbourhood. Improve the hotel instead.

Chris Cavan (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#496

I have lived at 5 Concorde Place for over 30 years and cannot imagine this beautiful area being turned into a wall of towering buildings. A substantial new development is already under construction just a couple of blocks away on Don Mills Road.

Patricia Leno (Toronto, 2022-03-24)

#501

This is completely insane. These condo developments are out of control.

Kellyanna Carvello (Woodbridge, 2022-03-24)

#503

Enough is enough, gentrification is ripping through communities, the influx of new unwanted residents would only cater to the exaggerated housing crisis faced by local occupants.

Ashanti Gordon (Brantford, 2022-03-25)

#508

I live in the area and will be affected.

Margaret Johnson (Toronto, 2022-03-25)

#510

This area is not built for the number of developments that are being proposed. The Crosstown at Don Mills, the project at Don Valley Suites, 175 Wynford, Concorde, 3 Swift (which will result in current tenant displacement), Eglinton Square, etc. This area is busy enough, traffic is already a nightmare and we just put up with years of inconvenience due to Metrolinx.

Arif Vellani (NORTH YORK, 2022-03-25)

#518

I live on that street. The proposed density is not viable

Valerie Mary Schuster (North York, 2022-03-25)

#520

I have been living in the condo next to the Don Valley Hotel for the past 10+ years. This area simply does NOT have the public amenities or infrastructure to support this kind of population density - imagine the lineup you'll have to face on the Eglinton LRT and bus platform, they don't even have enough space for everyone to stand! and what about schools, libraries, shopping centres, outdoor space, sports complex, recreational amenities when you build huge towers standing right beside each other in pretty much the middle of nowhere?

Lance Quan (Toronto, 2022-03-25)

#526

aside from the obviously excessive density, nowhere is there provision for local and sustainable jobs that would support this scale of development. It is the worst of possible outcomes, as while transit supportive, it relies too much on public transit to be nothing less than devastating for congestion even through a staged construction process. I can only imagine the LRT being overwhelmed and very quickly becoming rather 'transit unfriendly' if such massive developments are not carefully and wisely re-thought. The consequences otherwise will be far ranging and well beyond the immediate neighbourhoods.

Frank Marra (Toronto, 2022-03-26)

#528

I live and work in the area.

Jason Smith (Toronto, 2022-03-26)

#530

If this development is allowed the traffic congestion and peace of this neighborhood will be shattered. We bought in this area 25 yrs ago because of the safety and peace it offered.

Saira Nurali (Toronto, 2022-03-26)

#536

I'm signing because I am tired of these concrete jungles coming to Toronto.

Shoba Ryan (Scarborough, 2022-03-27)

#537

I agree not enough support for this massive development

Jim Clayton (Toronto, 2022-03-28)

#540

Don Mills' green spaces provide healthy air and recreation for all of Toronto. Turning this area into a mini concrete jungle only hastens the climate catastrophe for Toronto, and the loss of living in a livable space.

Nan Purre (Toronto, 2022-03-28)

#542

These high density buildings are not good for the community as there is not the infrastructure to support these developments
I have just had one of these high density communities build next to me and the congestion and lack of space is so apparent

Adrian Spicer (North York, 2022-03-29)

#546

I'm signing because our community is facing the same densification concerns and lack of supporting Infrastructure services with the 2444 Eglinton Housing Proposal which will also remove existing Kennedy Station Parking which commuters use to take transition.

Ron Parkinson (Toronto, 2022-04-06)

#547

I agree, and this is one of many such proposals in the area … even if they are all way cut back it will cause stresses in the neighbourhoods

Winnifred Brown (North York, 2022-04-12)

#550

Stop this insane development from happening!

Herta Czako (Toronto, 2022-04-25)

#552

This proposal totally ignores the existing bylaws and environmental impact for achieving their maximum profits! They try to grab our precious natural resources - up to scramble for the sky (build totally 13 towers, 52 – 65 storeys), and down to dig the underground (build 6 levels underground parking).
Our non-obstructed magnificent sunrise /sunset views, beautiful blue sky, fresh sunlight with natural 3D - those all are priceless commodity that we have embraced so far, all will be gone by excessive height cement towers, and we will live in the shadows with the noise of high winds. Our community will be totally destroyed, and our life will change forever.
We strongly urge the City Planning Officers and Local Councillors to stop this ridiculous, inhuman development plan! Please listen to the voices from our community, stand-up do the right thing!

Ann Wang (North York, 2022-05-01)

#553

I am signing to object the building more condos in my area.

Zulfikar Manji (Toronto, 2022-05-03)

#557

A tenant in Birchcliff experiencing the same ignorance of greedy developers. Stand Strong❣

Tracy Christoforou (Scarborough, 2022-06-26)

#558

I see this as an overwhelming urban density

Oana Jalba (Toronto, 2022-08-16)

#561

This is already a congested neighborhood. Adding 10-14 towers without a plan for schools, public transport, retail etc. will render this neighborhood un-liveable

Salim Sadruddin (North York, 2023-01-08)

#564

I am against the proposed development in this area. It is purely a money making venture that ONLY developers will benefit from, and our wildlife will suffer from.

John Rocca (North york, 2023-03-27)

#565

I am very concerned about the density and the infrastructure to support the density.

Zeib Jeeva (North York ON, 2023-03-27)

#568

I agree with the petition.

Rocco Nobile (North York, 2023-03-28)

#570

I am against this proposal. The infrastructure can’t handle this many people.

Peter Vacirtzoglou (Toronto, 2023-03-29)

#572

It’s busy now let alone tripling the population in such a small area!!!

David Bennett (North York, 2023-06-04)
