As a community we cannot continue like this. This goes beyond service delivery, this is a rights violation. The lack of expedient action from JHB Water and Rand Water on top of the complete lack of accountability has left our community feeling disregarded.

I completely agree that this situation is as unjust as it is dangerous. We simply CANNOT allow a precedent to be set where essential service providers ride roughshod over our human rights and rights as ratepayers.

We had no water for over 8 days with no sense of feedback nor urgency from Johannesburg or Rand water ! The ward concellor had to fight to get any feedback.

I am signing this because I feel that the Mayor of Johannesburg purposely ignored our pleas for a basic human right: water. We are dedicated tax and ratepayers and bought our house qith hard earned money.
The mayor negligted his duty to serve the residents of Johannesburg and by signing thus petition I want the truth to come out.

We are tired! How long are we expected to live like this! Going around chasing water tanks, finding alternative sources of water is not only time consuming but costly.

I live in the next suburb, Blairgowrie. Many suburbs, and thousands of residents have been affected by this water outage for the past 10 days. Although the crisis may have been resolved (after it was discovered yesterday that a major valve was closed when it should have been open) water is only trickling back, or not at all. The heat wave continues. These circumstances are inhumane for the sick, the elderly, the poor and those with young children. Not enough water in tankers is being provided to the residents in general.
