Moon Gymnastics Parents Need Your Help

My children also did competitive sports outside of school and rules are rules. You have to prioritize what is most important and make the best decision for your child. All kids want to play for their school, with their school friends, but it doesn’t help the team if they are not present for practices and games (competitions)

Rona Daley (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#202

I support Nick and Amy and their dedication to Moon gymnastics!

Kyley Bertin (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#203

This is wrong and should not use her power because her daughter wasn’t able to fulfill her time with the team

Laure Londino (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#205

People make choices and if they are not following the rules they should not be able to re write the rule book.

Jonathan Quinn (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#206

No parent should use their position to remove a coach for just doing their job and following the rules and not being biased. Teach your child that you cannot just bend the rules to suit you. Remove Crystal Barr.

Vanessa Haines (New York, 2023-08-17)

#208

A parent should not be using their public position to benefit their child at the expense of others in the community. This is deeply concerning and unacceptable.

Lighann Laur (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#213

I am a moon gymnastics alumni and fully support the program and coaching staff.

Kayla Turney (Lebanon, 2023-08-17)

#222

I support Coach, Amy Caprino and Youth Team Coach, Nick Price.

Tracy Svihla (McDonald, 2023-08-17)

#226

Attempting to dismantle 40 years of passion and commitment to develop a program that keeps kids engaged for their entire school aged years and more as most of the coaching staff are former alumni who come back to continue to be a part of something they believe in for one entitled parent is INSANE

Michelle Saunders (Moon township, 2023-08-17)

#227

We love Amy and Nick! Save Moon Gymnastics!

Ashley Reed (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#228

I grew up through this program being coached by both Amy and Nick.

Alayna Hudzinski (Moon TWP, 2023-08-17)

#230

Amy is an outstanding coach who adds so much to youth gymnastics in Moon. Personal disagreement should not be allowed to harm the kids.

Karen Angelo (Augusta, 2023-08-17)

#231

I grew up with moon gymnastics my entire life and had Amy and nick as my coaches growing up. There is no need for any of this and their jobs should not be at stake for someone’s PERSONAL opinion…. All cause their daughter won’t follow rules that had been in place since before I started the program.

Julia Crago (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#232

I was apart of Moon Gymnastics myself as a team member and I think without Amy Caprino, Moon Gymnastics would never be the same. She shouldn’t have her career taken away from her because of Mrs. Barr’s daughter not being able to make the team.

Mariona Haught (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#238

My daughter loves moon gymnastics and all those that make this program possible!

Missy Gilbert (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#240

It is not right what this board member is doing. She is abusing her power. I support Nick and Amy.

Mark Hartz (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#245

Once upon a time I got to participate in this program, and it gave me some of the best experiences as well friends of my life. For anyone other than Amy to run this program would be a shame.

Also personally knowing Nick, I know how much this program means to him and what a stand up individual he is. It hurts my heart to know anyone would try to paint him in any negative way.

Melissa Caprino (Irwin, 2023-08-17)

#249

This is absolutely absurd. Amy has been a huge part of Moon gymnastics and has done more for the sport than anyone else in the community. When will it stop, this happened awhile back about our swim coach who did nothing but give his life to the team.

Abigail Powell (Barboursville, 2023-08-17)

#251

Amy is a wonderful coach. If she wasn't then she wouldn't be loved by so many and wouldn't have had her job for this long!

Vanessa Mang (Moon twp., 2023-08-17)

#254

I’ve been through this program and it was like my 2nd family. I will support and do what I can to keep the program that I grew up in.

Lauren Hoff (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#255

I support the cause!

Shayla Judge (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#257

As a former Moon gymnast all throughout school it is so disheartening that such a great program has to go through this.

Samantha Ryan (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#259

We support Amy, Nick and the Moon Area Gymnastics program.

Jessica Neff (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#261

I’m sign because Nick Price is a ******* Boss!

Dylan Bertin (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#262

In support of Moon Gymnastics and Coaches.. This is an amazing association.

#266

Moon alum looking to support the flipping gymnastics program

Casey McLynden (Arlington Heights, 2023-08-17)

#268

Amy and Nick are excellent coaches, and Moon Township is lucky to have them. My daughter was a member of the Moon gymnastics team years ago. I back both of them 100%!

Joan Williams (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#273

I’m signing bc I support my niece and her friends- they love their teams and coaches!

Lauren Zwerling (Levittown, 2023-08-17)

#275

My granddaughter will be starting the program in the fall, I want her to have the great experience my oldest daughter had from age 5 to 18. This is a wonderful program for all the children of Moon Twp. I have known Amy and Nicole 30 years, they are the best coaches and role models for the children if Moon. People need to look in own closet before bad mouthing people who have dedicated there time to the children of moon. I am ashamed that a member of the school board is using her position to benefit her daughter and not all children of moon. That was why she was elected . Please support this great program.

Mary Liller (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#276

I'm a former member of Moon's competitive gymnastics team and think this is insane. Amy and Nick are great people. NOBODY should be trying to defame anyone's character here. The Caprino family made Moon gymnastics into what it was. I remember when Nick joined the gym team (he was younger than me) and it was so awesome watching him compete. I love that he's on staff now! And this all is just wrong.

Amber Ross (Bethel Park, 2023-08-17)

#278

I stand by head coach Amy Caprino and Youth Team coach Nick Price. They have contributed most of their lives to improving these programs and deserve to be accurately and appropriately represented by that.

Samantha Pihiou (Susko) (Canonsburg, 2023-08-17)

#279

Amy was my coach when I was in the Moon Gymnastics program, 20 years ago. She has such an impact on all of the gymnasts who have ever been in and are in the program. Without her leadership, it wouldn’t be where it’s at today. If Amy is not the head coach, I will think about sending my daughter elsewhere.

Lindsay Restaneo (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#280

I'm signing because I feel Ms Barr is wrong. If your daughter doesn't meet the requirements, which I'm sure she was aware of when she joined, then you don't go and spread lies and attack the coach. You accept the consequences and move on. No one should be a bully, especially an adult.

Deena Vermeulen (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#281

I support Nick and Amy!

Rebecca Lowrie (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#282

their achievements as coaches are way more significant then ur daughters feelings. being a board member doesn’t give u a special power on who coaches. u pay extra for ur kid to do gymnastics let the kids who don’t have that money do gymnastics for their school. selfish and ignorant.

skylar russo (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#283

I grew up knowing many of the gymnasts that spent most of their life as part of the Moon program. It was a home away from home for a lot of these girls. Sad that one “Karen” has to be a squeaky wheel and ruin the dreams of many.

Katie Pisall (Czyzewicz) (Hudsonville, MI, 2023-08-17)

#285

Amy and nick absolutely do not deserve any of this. They are the best at what they do ❤️🤍

Morgan Hammett (Moon township, 2023-08-17)

#289

Amy Caprino has dedicated her life to Moon Gymnastics! She should not be pushed out because a parent disagrees with the rules. It’s embarrassing this board member is using her power to try and pull apart this team!

Terri Ahern (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#291

Determined, supportive, trusting, focused, knowledgeable, patient, fun, respectful, goal driven, observant, clear and understanding communicators, hard working are just a few ways I would describe Amy and Nicole. I have two daughters in the Moon gymnastics program. Amy, Nicole and Nick have been by their side since my daughters were 5 years old. I whole heartedly feel they have made an impact on my girls lives. They have watched them grow. Taught them discipline, respect, confidence, determination and confidence. They are not just a gymnastics program, they are family. They have made this same impact on so many students. Before you tear apart this “family”, please take into consideration every single child that will be heartbroken. What is expected from your child is communicated every year. There is a reason Moon Gymnastics is consistently champions. Amy and Nicole have dedicated their lives to this program. They are respected and they have created a loyal family that will support them 100%.

Meghan Burgunder (Moon, 2023-08-17)

My youngest daughter has been involved in Moon area, gymnastics since she was three years old. This is an amazing program that not only teaches our children gymnastics, but teaches them values morals, how to be good human beings. It teaches them about working together, being a team, a family, the coaches, a Moon gymnastics Are some of the most dedicated and truly caring and invested people I have ever met in my life. They always put our children first and it sickens me that there are elected officials whose job is to represent their constituents are so self-serving and put their own personal vendettas ahead of the constituents, who elected them to serve and to be the voice, of those constituents! And it truly saddens me even further, when these elected individuals try using defamation of character on someone like Nick Price… Well that speaks more to their lack of integrity.

Sarah Robertson (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#294

Moon gymnastics was one of the best things I did growing up! I formed relationships that will last a lifetime. Moon gymnastics not only helped me grow as a gymnast, but as a person. I am the person I am today thanks to Moon gymnastics, I don’t know where I’d be without it!

Alyssa Serbak (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#298

Amy is an important part of the moon community. She is the best coach and a role model to hundreds of kids over the years. Amy has dedicated her entire life to this program. She has impacted more athletes than one can count. The program is strong, consistent, and loved by the community. Plus, the program success speaks for itself.

Kristen Crayton (MOON TOWNSHIP(PA), 2023-08-17)

#302

My sister was involved with gymnastics. I also don’t think disgruntled parents should be able to make decisions about someone’s employment based on nothing other than opinion and hearsay.

Elizabeth Mills (Little Elm, 2023-08-17)

#303

This is ridiculous as this program is very highly thought of

Steve Bieranowski (Moon township, 2023-08-17)

#307

I’m signing because I have had many friends in this program and I know the names of the coaches just by hearing my friends talk about them and how great they are. I can tell how much this program means to them.

Julia Jozwiak (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#308

My daughter is currently on pre-team and had brrn involved in Moon Gymnadticd for a couple of years. I support Amy Coach Amy and Nick fully.

Stacey DiSpigno (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#309

In support and appreciation of the Moon Area Gymnastics Association. This organization led by Amy Caprino is a valuable asset in our community that is indispensable. Our district should be recognizing the over 40 years of dedication to our gymnasts and the entire coaching staff. The gymnastic program in Moon is and has been pivotal in instilling a strong foundation of leadership and integrity into our children.

Julie Pawuk (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#312

Parent of a gymnast in the Moon Gymnastics program that has benefited from her experience with Coach Amy Caprino

Sharon Sember (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#314

This is total crap that an elitist big name in the community thinks that their child should be entitled and exempt from the foundation of this org - Which is standard across the board in sports! If my kid wants to play travel ball they are clear that my obligation lies to the in-house activities over travel. YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL

Kimberly Joyce (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#315

Amy Caprino and Nick Price have done nothing wrong. Moon Gymnastics is one of the BEST programs our community has. It’s a fun, safe space that follows ethical guidelines. Not only did Amy help me become a good gymnast, she helped me become a good person. Crystal Bars’s resentful behavior needs to be cancelled. She should not be allowed to make any decisions for the community of Moon Township.

Sabrina Picciani (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#316

My family was involved with Moon Gymnastics for years. It is a wonderful program.

Linda Konley (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#318

Amy was and is still an amazing coach and member of the community.

Natasha Crighton Turner (Imperial, 2023-08-17)

#319

I have known Nick Price for more than 10 years. He has been helping coach my daughter Marina Ward and has always being very nice and respectful. I have always been able to have a nice conversation with him every time I would see him on a practice, competition, or a fun day. Amy Caprino, who I know for more than 14 years, is excellent with all the kids. I was also present the day that Amy Caprino presented Ms. Barr with the option for her daughter to join MAGA, as long as she would also follow the same rules as other students, and it was clear that Ms. Barr was looking for a special treatment to be given to her daughter.

Milene Ward (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#321

I am Moon ‘97 alumni. Amy Caprino and Nick Price have done an excellent job at representing and coaching this program that is bursting with enrollment at its seams. Rules are rules for a reason and this program is successful because of them. Why should anyone be an exception and try to ruin this empire because her child didn’t get her way.

Kimberly Page (Aliquippa, 2023-08-17)

#322

I support a program that has been a highly valued in our community for decades and is obviously successfully run by its outstanding track record.

Kathleen Morris (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#324

I’m signing this petition because Moon Gymnastics was my childhood growing up. Nikki and Amy are two of the best coaches out there. From the track record Moon Gymnastics has had over the years it shows. Moon Gymnastics would not be in Moon Gymnastics without these two women.

Elsie Obenreder (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#325

I have been a part of this program since it began as a gymnast under Amy and as instructor. I have worked closely with both Amy and Nick. In the early nineties high school gymnastics programs were slowly being dismantled in the high school setting. Amy resurrected the sport in the high school level and worked with other coaches within the region to get gymnastics back in our schools to allow gymnasts to represent their respective districts. Everyone is welcome and treated fairly as long as they follow the program rules. I truly believe in this program and our coaches.

Michelle Kernan (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#327

I participated in Moon Gymnastics for over ten years and I had zero issues! I enjoyed every second of it!

Taylor Paul (Corapolis, 2023-08-17)

#328

I’m signing this petition because these actions are unethical. Ms. Bell could have saved herself the embarrassment by either teaching her daughter to have better attendance, or accepting the consequences of her choices.

Casey Johnston (Industry, 2023-08-17)

#329

I’m signing this because this program has benefited numerous youth through many years. It is not right what is occurring and needs to stop.

Linda Antonella (Greensburg, 2023-08-17)

#330

Amy and Nick are fantastic coaches! Don’t overschedule your kids and then get mad that there are consequences

Danielle Suchy (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#332

Amy and Nikki are the best! They have done a great job over the last 40 years making a positive impact on Moon, while building Moon gymnastics into a powerhouse. It is not easy to be apart of Moon Gymnastics, but that’s what it takes to be apart of a championship team.

Ben Romah (Crescent Township, 2023-08-17)

#334

I’m a moon gymnastics alumni that absolutely loves this organization and Amy + Nickie Caprino!!

Megan Meneskie (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

My daughter loves the moon gymnastics program

Erin Pollak (Moon, 2023-08-17)

#336

I’m signing because I have gone through the Moon gymnastics program and it is the best program I have ever been apart of. There is no need for the school board to change the program.

Casey Benard (Moon township, 2023-08-17)

#340

This is completely unacceptable. Shame on Crystal Barr and her attempt in abuse of power. As a result she should be removed from her position as a Moon Area School Board Member.

Natalie Schuffert (Munhall, 2023-08-17)

#343

I am signing because Amy does a great job with the gymnastic team. Rules are meant to be followed. Crystal if you don’t like the rules go somewhere else.

Nick Price was wrongfully fired

Brett Wheeler (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#349

My daughters have gone through this program & have many life experiences because of it. There is no need for someone without any experience with the program to come in and try to change it.

Janice Benard (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#353

I am in total support Moon Gymnastics and am very grateful of the experience our family had in being apart of the thriving program.

Megan Magnanti (Mc Donald, 2023-08-17)

#361

I took gymnastics with Amy Caprino when I was in high school (many years ago). The gymnastics program at Moon and coach Amy Caprino are top notch!

Kristin Dulaney (Aliquippa, 2023-08-17)

#368

I’m a past parent of two Moon Gymnastics girls. I have the utmost respect for Amy and the entire coaching staff. There were days I was angry with the rules. Years later, I see the lessons my girls learned through following those rules play out positively in their adult lives and careers. You know the saying… it takes a village. Amy and Moon Gymnastics are very much a positive part of that village.

Susan Bardusch (State College, 2023-08-17)

#369

The 10+ years that I was involved in Moon gymnastics had an extremely positive impact in my life and taught me so much more than just gymnastics. Moon gymnastics is not just a successful, winning team but also an incredible, fair, and fun community full of wonderful people. There is no Moon Gymnastics without Amy, Nickie, and dedicated coaches like Nick.

Victoria Priola (Iowa City, 2023-08-17)

#371

I Love Moon Gymnastics !! And I love Nickie Amy and nick ❤️

Justyne Wright (Pittsburgh, 2023-08-17)

#374

Both my sister and I participated in Moon Gym from when we were toddlers through grade school. We loved the program and friends we made there.

Caroline Owens (Palatine, 2023-08-17)

#379

My daughter went through Moon Gymnastics. It is a great program. I know the coaching staff they are wonderful people and have treated kids well all these years. All sports have attendance rules it is ridiculous a school board member would do this

Linda Elias (Moon Twp, 2023-08-17)

#382

This is NOT okay and totally unacceptable! I stand with Amy and Nick. This is a gross overuse of power from a Moon School Board Member, and she should be relieved of her school board duties immediately. Just because you're on the school board doesn't mean you or your daughter are above the rules and guidelines that were already previously set forth!

Lauralynn Mangis (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#389

My daughter's have been involved in the gymnastics program. Always a good experience. Amy has worked hard to create this wonderful program.

Elizabeth Millerschoen (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#390

I’ve watched Amy and Nikki Caprino coach for the last 16 years and my granddaughter attendance moon gymnastics, and in all cases, they’ve done an excellent job, and I support them for the future

Linda Joseph (Pgh pa, 2023-08-17)

#392

I've known Amy Caprino for over 30 years. She is an amazing person inside and out. Removing her from Moon Gymnastics would be detrimental to the program and to the community.

Jason Gilotty (Gibsonia, 2023-08-17)

#395

All coaches have to have rules and the students must abide to the rules. Amy is a great coach!

Patty Langer (Coraopolis, 2023-08-17)

#397

Amy has had rules in place for a very long time. The gymnasts are aware of them and she holds to them across the board. That is the fair way to do it.

Floy Pease (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#398

Amy and Nick are amazing and put many years of blood sweat and tears into this program. You’d be crazy to replace them… “don’t fix something that isn’t broken”!!!

Patty Wilken (Moon Township, 2023-08-17)

#400

I support the program and staff of moon gymnastics
