It is only fair that we know what the results are before we have to write the reassessment.

This was very emotional exams and it would be unfair to penalise them. It must be marked and if any student failed THEN only must they rewrite for free.

Amanda Ferreira (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-07)

I want to the information before rewriting

Bianca Scheffer (Johannesburg, 2021-12-07)

I would like the results to be released before the re-write.

I was an affected candidate writing the SAICA. I experienced emotional and psychological trauma due to the difficulties experienced on the day due to the fault of SAICA, despite my best preparations. I still feel that there may be a chance that I passed the exam, especially if marking is expedited and considerations taken into account for the circumstances under which candidates wrote. I feel that I should not be penalized and forced to rewrite(the option to rewrite without all the relevant facts and circumstances surrounding my performance on 1 Dec is NOT AN OPTION as I cannot make an accurate decision and thus will be forced to taje a gamble on my professional career). I feel that candidates deserve to be allowed to make informed decisions and that a mass rewrite will be a waste of SAICAs resources, as well as detrimental to candidates who are already mentally drained and will be forced to rewrite a 6 day exam amidst busy season(some unnecessarily so as they may have passed), it will detriment our firms and the clients we serve during the busiest audit time of the year which can greatly impact the SA economy at large due to delayed reporting for some JSE listed entities and large private companies. Trainees will be forced into unnecessary costs, additional leave days, emotional and psychological and mental stress and I feel that SAICA has taken decisions without consultation of their most important stakeholders, the trainees, and made this decision very lightly when writing the APC exam is no simple task.

Rewrite after results are released

Brian Banda (Harare, 2021-12-07)

#225

No consideration or consultation took place with the candidates and a decision was made on their behalf.

Johan Claassen (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-07)

#227

I need to know my performance before being forced to write something I may have passed. This will be a waste of time and effort.

Nhlaka Ntombela (Midrand, 2021-12-07)

#232

I agree !

Sameerah Essa (Durban, 2021-12-07)

#240

It would be unfair to all to have to rewrite due to bad management and technival difficulties out of our control as some might have been competent on the 1st. The rewrite should only be applicable to those who did not pass.

Chrismar Steenkamp (Pretoria, 2021-12-07)

#241

SAICA is putting an undue burden on us. Preparing for an exam like APC is mentally draining and expecting us to go through it again without knowing if we passed the first test is unacceptable.

Monize Kotze (Johannesburg, 2021-12-07)

#243

The reasoning makes absolutely no sense

Michaela Schmidt (Cape Town, 2021-12-07)

#245

Candidstes should not suffer the inconvenience to re-write due to the circumstances that were not in their control. SAICA had not performed in accordance with the agreement, therefore SAICA should suffer the inconvenience.

Isabel Smith (Pretoria, 2021-12-07)

#246

I disagree with SAICA enforcing a rewrite before releasing the results.

Bradley Fresen (Johannesburg, 2021-12-07)

#248

This is right!!

Ninette Stemmet (Stellenbosch, 2021-12-07)

#267

The students studied hard and it is not their fault if the organisation of the exam went haywire!

Louis Begemann (Pretoria, 2021-12-07)

#279

I want to get my results before deciding whether to rewrite.

Tevlin Pillay (Johannesburg, 2021-12-07)

#281

SAICA need to act in the best interests of the candidates and not itself. We demand our results before having to rewrite, possibly just for vibes.

Katleho Mothabeng (Bloemfontein, 2021-12-07)

#289

This is not fair on the students.

Francia Botha (Nigel, 2021-12-08)

#291

I start a new job in Feb next year. It's very unnecessary to be seeking leave if I have past already. For those who's scripts were corrupted or missing they should be informed and they obviously have to rewrite, if someone didn't pass they should be allowed to rewrite at no extra cost due to the stress caused. SAICA must be transparent,it's not necessary to make everyone rewrite.

Shenise Pillay (Durban, 2021-12-08)

#293

I do not want to rewrite and repeat the trauma if there is a chance that I passed the APC.

Rory Clarke (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#297

Release results before re-write

Tait Imdone (Mutare, 2021-12-08)

#301

It makes no sense to not release the results before the re write. Why would SAICA want to make double the papers.

Ryan Thorpe (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#303

I’m signing because I think it’s only fair we know the results of the first exam before having to write the second.

Shannon Gerber (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#304

I believe that results of the December 2021 APC should be released before the re-write of the APC. Candidates should not have to write this exam twice unnecessarily.

Sumaiya Jeewa (Centurion, 2021-12-08)

#307

I wrote the APC exam and believe results should be released before we rewrite.

Sipho Mseleku (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#310

I wrote the APC this year an believe the fair thing to do for candidates is to release the marks first.

Ahren Bell (Pretoria, 2021-12-08)

#312

I would like my results before having to re-write

Daniel Erasmus (Pretoria, 2021-12-08)

#313

We request our 1/12/2021 paper marks and then only to re-write (if necessary)

Nicola Fourie (Pretoria, 2021-12-08)

#322

I can't rewrite before the results are out. That is unacceptable.

Anathi Mncono (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#337

I am signing because it is unfair that they expect people to rewrite the examination, not knowing whether they passed or failed. Those who have indeed passed have demonstrated the highest level of competence to be able to pass under such circumstances and should therefore not have to go through the trauma of rewriting.

Taliah Chellan (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#339

I'm an signing because I need to see my result before rewriting

Phiwayinkosi Nzuza (Cape Town, 2021-12-08)

#343

Im signing because I believe that SAICA should release our 1 December results before any rewrites occur.

Stefania Jerman (Pretoria, 2021-12-08)

#352

Marks first please before re-write opportunity

Gracious Nkomo (Pretoria, 2021-12-08)

#366

I’m signing this because I do not believe it is fair or practical to have a rewrite before the results of the first exam are published.

Alex Keyser (Cape Town, 2021-12-08)

#369

I wrote the original exam and would like to avoid writing it again if I have passed.

Emma de Kock (London, 2021-12-08)

#374

I am signing this because I agree that it is Madness to expect the candidates to write twice without releasing the first set of results.
If candidates fail the first attempt, then they should be given the opportunity to rewrite

Gilad Alkalay (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#380

I am signing because it is unfair to force me to rewrite without knowing my initial mark from December before making the decision

Charis Du Plessis (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#384

I’m signing because candidates should not be put in the position to have to rewrite, based on the incompetence and negligence of SAICA. They have once again denied any input of their candidates by deciding a way forward without consultation.

Darino De Abreu (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#386

I want marks back before the rewrite.

David Gudmanz (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#391

I am signing because I believe SAICA is not acting in the best interests of the candidates and the institution should be held accountable for their lack of competence. SAICA have shifted the blame onto others and this petition serves to place repercussions solely on the institute

Kevin Cameron (Roodepoort, 2021-12-08)

#392

How can you punish the writers for SAICA's errors. Tell us if we need to write again.

David Rodrigues (London, 2021-12-08)

#396

I believe it is unfair to have to rewrite the APC without knowing that we actually need to rewrite the APC

Devon Bareiss (Florida Park, 2021-12-08)

#397

I believe the results should be released, before the re-write occurs.

Kyle Mc Cauley (JHB, 2021-12-08)

#398

I would rather not have to rewrite if it is possible to see that I have already passed

Alecia Anderson (Cape Town, 2021-12-08)

#400

I wrote the APC & think it unfair that a rewrite be taken prior to releasing December results

Viwe Nokoyo (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)
