I have a meter problem it was by passed by Citypower contractors and I have logged several calls without it being corrected. The City of Joburg really needs to pull its act together. We pay our rates and taxes; we put in measures to be power conservative and many other things... but the COJ always ends up blaming citizens for their inefficient behavior. I’m in westdene jhb and we’ve had days without electricity... the narrative is too many residents and pressure on the grid, but then Council approves all these communes opening up in our Neighbour hood. It’s so frustrating and disheartening. We need to shout and get angry before government listens. This is not what we should doing. Do your jobs. Regular power outages, stolen cables, call centres don't answer the phone, no communication from City Power concerning the progress of repairs. Many of the sub stations are not securely locked. The sub station in Hawthorn has not had locks on its gate and doors for years, notwithstanding numerous complaints. It is time to nail and jail cable criminals.
