Lack of public consultation regarding 'local tradtion/folklore" statue chosen for them! It's a beautiful piece of art, but we have a voice!

Clare County Council has decided, without consultation with local people, that Ennistymon will be the location for a piece of art which is not relevant to the town or its history.

Does not represent the town. Proper consultation With the locals and involvement in the process needed.

The statue has no relevance to the proud history or culture of Ennistymon.

The Puca most certainly does not reflect the friendly nature of Ennistymon's kind and caring community.

Lack of consultation with town, local people. I disagree with the proposed location of statue as not suitable and I fail to see its link with towns history r heritage.

The piece doesn’t reflect the rich history or culture of the town. The piece itself is not inviting/warm/welcoming. Locals were not appropriately represented in the decision making process.

No consultation and not in keeping with the town.

Nothing against the statue. Art is art and it's not for everyone.. Ennistymon has a rich history going back as far anyone can imagine. It's just a pity that something from that history wasn't thought of to commerate in a statue.

Im signing this because it doesn't do anything for the town
It would frightened young people. Not in a great place to put it.

The proposed sculpture does not represent Ennistymon in any way. Additionally the stature is quite repulsive and will do nothing for our tourist trade.

This is completely unsuitable and tacky for the village it will be an eyesore and subject to vandalism

This piece of art is highly unsuitable for Ennistymon. Please do not erect it. I am sure another home can be found for it.

I spent many a summer visiting my relations in Clare. This would be an eyesore.

No consultation, no representation. Questions still remain unanswered. Who authorised this particular statue? Why are Clare County Council still failing to engage? Where was the transparency? Why has the sculptor and his supporters distorted the objections to garner support? Why did Gordon Deegan not correct his story when made aware of the facts? The people of Ennistymon have been ridiculed, called backward and ignorant amongst other things. Unfortunately for the sculptor, journalist & others they underestimated the fighting spirit of the people of our town.

It has nothing to do with the town it’s overly pretentious. Also more residents should have been consulted.

David O’Brien (Ennistymon, 2021-05-20)

The sculpture doesn't not reflect the brief. The people of the town were not given a choice and will have to live with it. Respect our voice. I say no

My family has lived in Ennistymon for generations! We have been part of Ennistymon for generations. A goat no matter how beautiful it may be in its design is not appropriate. Now if you were in Kerry at the puc fair one would understand. Ennistymon needs something that the town can relate too! Regards Patricia Neylon Taylor ☘️

I object to the statue as I feel it does not add to the beauty rather detracts from a place of the most warm memories as a child right up untill recently when I e. Migrated from the area.
