I believe that Cleeve Hill Golf Club should be protected as a public facility.Wayne Stanton-Kerr (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)

Always enjoyed Cleeve and more recently it was the first round I played at the start of lockdown after 5 years of not touching my clubs. I’m now a member at Minch. Would be a terrible shame to see 125 years of history eradicated.Robin Smith (Stroud, 2020-09-08)

This needs support and receive further consultationStacey Ferguson (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)
#230
There has been no negotiation or public consultation about the closure of a public facility and venue. This has been an underhanded decision without consultation or looking at problems & solutions. This needs investigating as to who’s benefiting from this! Because the public and golfers certainly aren’t!Helen Ballinger (Winchcombe , 2020-09-08)
#231
Use the clubhouse when it’s open, great food, great company, dog friendly and fab walks!!Vicky Morgan (Winchcombe , 2020-09-08)

I’m signing because cleeve is the most fantastic course I’ve ever played I’ve been a member in the past and was always made to feel welcome by everybody that is a part of cleeve cloud from all the golfers to bar and restaurant staff and Dave in the pro shop it’s a shambles that tbc are planning to close it down forever so much history will be gone for ever and I for one don’t want to see this happenNathan Bradbury (Cheltenham, 2020-09-08)

This should be kept openCouncil should adopt it

This golf club should never be in this situation the previous lease holders decisions and stubbornness to only accept his own decisions releasing the best green keeper we have ever had and probably upsetting TBC in the process has not been conducive for the well being of cleeve cloudMalcolm Hopkins (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)
#247
Because it's the right thing to do .When the government tell us we need to exercise more and live better this is being taken away , and for what !

I’m a member and have been for over 25 years and do not want to see this fabulous golf course destroyed by petty councils it should stay a municipal golf course you won’t get a better bunch of golf buddies any where like cleeveJack Boulton (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)
#254
It is one of the few courses accessible to me as a teenager learning to play golf in the local area. Without access to municipal courses it will make it even harder for the generations coming through to have the opportunities to play such a great game and ultimately lead to the demise of the support.I haven’t played there in years as now live too far away but can still remember lots of the holes such as the quarry well. The sign of a great course.
Mike Barker (Bristol, 2020-09-08)

I am totally against the closure of a well used successful amenity. The council have no interest in the course or club, but only the money they make from it, it has been going on for decades.Michael Herbert (Honiton, 2020-09-08)

I believe in retaining a popular part of our local history that has benefitted so many local people, directly and indirectly.Alan McIlquham (Gloucestershire, 2020-09-08)

The golf club means so much to so many people it would be a crime to let it disappearChris Alder (Cleeve, 2020-09-08)

Once again a town miles from Cheltenham area is trying to build houses etc to meet its quota. If they want houses I suggest they build them in Tewksbury and stop putting Cheltenham and Bishops Cleeve amenities under greater strain.Gareth Masters (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)

I grew up playing golf at Cleeve before 22 year military career and returned to Cleeve Hill. The people, staff and course has been party to annual charity events and local lives for years. Save this club!!!Dean Mitchinson (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)

Cleeve Hill Golf Course is a vital open space for Cheltenham encouraging walking and most importantly gives views over Cheltenham all residents should be entitled too. - This is a Golf Course which gives access to sports to everyone and not just to members.Susann Ropella (CHELTENHAM, 2020-09-08)

It’s given lots of pleasure to lots of people for lots of years and it should continue to do so after we’ve all passed.Sid Harvey (Cheltenham, 2020-09-08)
#303
we can not lose this golf course & club! Natural beauty and if covid-19 has taught us anything its to enjoy & appreciate the simple things in life. TBC are not holding builders (persimmon) to agreed community facilities being built as it it and this is another one to be lost in Cleeve if this goes ahead. Councils need to listen to what the public want.Michelle Cook (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)
#305
I use the course on average once a week, and on its day can be one of the best in the county, a real asset!!!Scott Harkin (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)

Cleeve Hill has history and is a fine golf club and course. It’s where I learned to play...Barry Godwin (Cheltenham, 2020-09-08)

I believe the decision being made by TBC is wrong and will have very short term financial gains. The golf course on Cleeve hill has been established over a period of more than a hundred years, to let this magnificent course sink back into the ground is ridiculously short sighted.Ian Long (Ashton under Hill, 2020-09-08)

Cleeve Hill Golf Course is a true test of golf for all golfers. This would be a national shame that in this day an age you take away one of the most naturally tough golf courses in the world.Graham Roberts (Cheltenham, 2020-09-08)

It is a awesome golf course not often you have to hit through a small break in a rampart of an a Roman hill fort and in the distance you can see the severn bridge. Great greens would be a real shame to lose itRuary Macphie (Cheltenham, 2020-09-08)

I’m signing this petition because I feel so strongly about preserving at least SOME of our beautiful countryside!...over the last few decades Both Bishops Cleeve and the surrounding villages have been totally disregarded and have lost so much of our Land..please leave our hill alone!...let us keep something!!!Christine Hunt (Gloucestershire , 2020-09-08)

Cleeve Cloud golf club and course is an important part of local social life.Promoting is exercise for all ages in a socially distanced manner.
Golf is a great sport for retired people and the common serves the purpose in a great way.
People should be put before profit - Tewkesbury Council should take note.
Graham Foote (Cheltenham , 2020-09-08)
