Fern Procter (Cape town, 2020-04-11)

#3206

Smoke does not kill you now, but alcohol does

Hendrik Botha (Mosselbaai, 2020-04-11)

#3208

Addicts cannot just smoking
Like me and thousand others we need our daily dose of nicotine

Kevin Forbes (GAUTENG, 2020-04-11)

#3211

I feel smoking has got nothing to do with socializing.

Mark Rossouw (Ballito, 2020-04-11)

#3212

im a smoker and drinker and it seems u are punishing me and why is bheki cele agaist smoking and drinking bt cnt close the drug dens and curb rape nd more serious crimes

Carlo Schoeman (cape town, 2020-04-11)

#3220

Lift the ban on alcohol and tobaco like you lifted the ban on taxi passenger capacity.

Ansie De Beer (Barberton, 2020-04-12)

#3222

My smoking has nothing to do with the virus I don't go anywhere to harm anyone I'm a single mother and if I get withdrawals it cant be a good example to my son of 6

Christelle Smith (Witbank, 2020-04-12)

#3223

I don't want to be in the middle of a riot when it happens, as it will

Nicola Mawson (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

#3224

I'm signing because banning cigarettes makes absolutely no sense.

Lauren Mendoza (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

#3225

I do believe any addiction should be a process of weaning so as to not cause the withdrawal symptoms do as to avoid anger and aggression

Vernon Boy (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3226

Because Squirrel is forcing smokers to switch to cannabis. Not necessarily a bad thing but it's vastly more expensive until your own crop is in and dried and cured.

Michael Louw (Kempton Park, 2020-04-12)

#3228

My rights have been taken away. I am in lockdown,, it is sressful enough, we are not mindless zombies, don't treat us as such

Cheryl Evans (Mtunzini, 2020-04-12)

#3231

Iam having sleepless nights and already in a mood knowing I only have three boxes left. It's my human right to smoke just like it's someone's right to eat meat or not.

Cheryldene Horn (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3232

I agree. please sell ciggerettes.

verna brickley (durban, 2020-04-12)

Piers Goodwin (Cape Town, 2020-04-12)

#3239

Dont like people to struggle

Wikus Jacobs (Boksburg, 2020-04-12)

#3245

I am stressed without being able to smoke. Getting angry and depressed. Sigarettes settles my nerves. I don’t really understand the ban as sigarettes are at essential shops and not like the liquor stores, so while buying essential groceries I can buy sigarettes. Please help us.

Erika Van Der Westhuizen (Mossel Bay, 2020-04-12)

#3247

Please lockdown is tough enough need my sanity and my cigarettes

Carol Gouws (Gauteng, 2020-04-12)

#3249

I am still to trying to wrap my head around the reason for the banning of the sale of tobacco products during lockdown. Withdrawal from tobacco is REAL and the smoker is not the only one that suffers due to withdrawal.

Sue Ferreira (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3250

I don't see why we cannot buy. People are organising 2nd grade dangerous cigs at ridiculous prices and people are buying it. And local shops are apparently selling the "legal" brands for between R 850 - R 1 000 a carton...lots of tax on cigs and alcohol lost that can be used to help during this time!

Emile Barnard (Olivedale, 2020-04-12)

#3254

I'm signing this because no help is being provided for nicotine addict

Olwethu Ntoni (Eastern Cape, 2020-04-12)

#3257

Im signing because im having withdrawal and it helps me to distress.

Romean Solomon (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3259

I support this notion

Babalwa Mekeni (Port Alfred, 2020-04-12)

#3263

I smoke

Diane Schoeman (Boksburg, 2020-04-12)

#3266

I am a smoker and essential services. During this time it would be impossible for people in Essential Services to quit smoking and could have a mental impact on their concentration and work. Be reasonable about this. Allow large supermarkets and grocers to sell cigarettes together with essential food products.

Antoinette Opperman (Amanzimtoti, 2020-04-12)

#3273

Make cigarettes legal. Lift the ban

Johann Smit (Eastlondon, 2020-04-12)

#3275

I stand up for the rights of all south africans i believe we should be able to buy sigaretts during lock down

Santie Oosthuizen (Gauteng, 2020-04-12)

#3277

I have families that smoke, it is realy a stress reliever for them. You cant just stop smoking. If you were a smoker you would know that.

Jacoba Swanepoel (Jan kempdorp, 2020-04-12)

#3279

Smokers do not get behind the wheel of a car and causes numerous accidents and deaths on our roads. We do not abuse women and children while under the influence of nicotine. We do not break lockdown rules in order to go and search for someone who illegally sells cigarettes or break into liquor stores!

Mara Oertel (Bloemfontein, 2020-04-12)

#3281

I'm signing cause I am a smoker and banning cigarettes with force me to buy illegally

Careen Gregorio (Jhb, 2020-04-12)

#3282

we had rights for years and within such short notice our ciggerettes were take from us we couldnt even prepare. that simply isnt fair.

Ryan Sparg (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3283

I am a smoker and believe the ban has to be lifted

Caren Heldsinger (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3285

I am a smoker and I feel this is going against my human rights if I cannot buy cigarettes. Please lift the ban.

Vienie Reis (Middelburg, 2020-04-12)

#3296

It is unhealthy to just stop smoking cold turkey. Also, people who have stopped smoking have been known to get flu and colds more easily during the transition from smoking to non smoking. Now is not the time to be getting sick.

Louanne Malan (East London, 2020-04-12)

#3297

If we cant smoke, its worse than in prison. Who is the President to decide that we cant smoke. Its like telling us lose weight, dont eat, dont live. Its a choice of freedom and a human right. Seriously!!!! He must focus on his eternity rather

Anna-Marie Lotter (Amanzimtoti, 2020-04-12)

#3298

We are treated like kids.
No one has the right to tell us as grown human beings to live our lives.😠

Marie Jonas (East L9ndon, 2020-04-12)

#3299

I think this is absolutely ridiculous ruling

Simon Koch (Cape Town, 2020-04-12)

#3301

I need a cigarette.

Riana Behrens (Port Elizabeth, 2020-04-12)

#3303

I’m singing because I am looking after my elderly disabled mother during lock down and my stress relief is to go outside a couple of times a day to de-stress with a cigarette - my withdrawal symptoms are making it very difficult to cope with her cate

Amanda Davison (Cape Town, 2020-04-12)

#3304

It is my stress relief I am a Frontline worker

Jeanette Oosthuizen (Klerksdorp, 2020-04-12)

#3305

This is unnecessary and ads stress in an already difficult time.

Dewald Zyl (Cape Town, 2020-04-12)

#3306

I'm a smoker and it is ridiculous to ban the selling of sigarette.
As a smoker I do not want to break the law so please lift the ban. How much money are you losing due to this ban.

Chimoné Van Loggerenberg (Hartbeespoort, 2020-04-12)

#3310

Its ridiculous to think cigarettes will contribute to a higher Covid 19 death count!!

Gabi Blight (Cape Town, 2020-04-12)

#3311

because im a smoker

Shasha swanepoel (kathu, 2020-04-12)

#3313

Suzette Bray (Port Alfred, 2020-04-12)

#3315

Andrea Poulter (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

#3320

I agree 100%

Pat Snyman (Pretoria, 2020-04-12)

#3324

Lift the ban so that people are not selling cigarettes illegal. It's their money that pays for it, the government also benefits from the selling of cigarettes and alcohol.

Christell Smit (Kaap, 2020-04-12)

#3327

Ive been a smoker for 20years

Quentin Odendaal (Emalahleni, 2020-04-12)

#3328

It's really not something that has a bad influence on your family like alcohol. Please, be reasonable. Will be much appreciated

Wilna Kruger (Klerksdorp, 2020-04-12)

#3333

I am a law obeying citizen - doing n honest job and contributing towards the economy - obeying the locked down rules yet would like to honostly buy my cigarettes on which Government will earn its rightful taxes - don't turn us into criminals over a legal product.

Marlin Kasselman (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

#3334

I need my cigg..I need a drink...people are breaking in to steal these things.i just want to buy my things honest way..and keep sane as the isolation an no smoking is not good!!!!!

Tanya Serrao (Springs, 2020-04-12)

#3338

Smokers are suffering.
We have to scoure the streets and black market for cigarettes. We had one day notice of this ban on cigarettes.

Nicolaas Joubert (Klerksdorp, 2020-04-12)

#3340

The withdrawel simtons is whorse than the sicknes. Creating a black market. Losing income tax that can be used to fight the virus.

Smittie Smit (Pretoria, 2020-04-12)

#3346

This ban is stupid!!!!!

Lynette Gericke (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

#3359

I dont ask anyone to pay for my smokes and if i do not smoke I am putting unnecessary stress on my body. And is our beautyfull Land not a land of free will?

It is infringing in my liberty and is absurd, thought out by the cANCer pandemic

Elize Matthee (Mossel Bay, 2020-04-12)

#3369

Siggarettes don't make you crash into a wall. And decent people are going to become criminals because of a bad habit that doesn't cause inappropriate manners like alcohol does.

Christo Pieterse (Pretoria, 2020-04-12)

#3370

I'm an essential SDX contract driver at a courier comoany and need my cigarettes which is essential to me to do my job.....driving for hours and hours I need my sigarette. ...pls Mr President. ....

Eddelina Hall (East London, 2020-04-12)

Ierephaan Abrahams (Capetown, 2020-04-12)

#3373

I think it is ridiculous to di this to smokers what’s the point

Dina Silva (Johannesburg, 2020-04-12)

Niel Van Zyl (Klerksdorp, 2020-04-12)

#3382

I need to smoke

Philip Botha (Buffalo city, 2020-04-12)

#3389

Banning smoking now will have no effect if the smoker contracts COVID 19. It takes 7+ YEARS for the lungs to recover.
The government is losing over R350 million in taxes due to non sake of tobacco products.

Maria Steyn (Kempton Park, 2020-04-12)
