As far as I understand, this is a registered Wet Land and should be treated as such. Security has become as issue too

Kim Brudvig (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

#2202

I would like to see this beautiful environment preserved and give the informal settlers a decent place to stay.

This settlement has an enormous impact on our daily lives and the ecologically sensitive wetland. The “homeless” should at least respect our community. They have parties and loud music almost every night

I lived next to the quarry in Waterkloof for 10 years. It was a war zone. Illegals were bussed in from the Zim border daily. Rape, murder, armed robery was at the order of the day with the Brooklyn police too scared to help. We could not leave the house. If you went to Spar your house would be a target every single time. My child 16 is still getting therapy for the trauma suffered. This is crazy. Homeowners paid a lot of money for the surrounding property and pay taxes monthly. You will destroy this area. Just look at the state of that area already.

Gerhard Campher (Pta, 2020-07-28)

The settlement issue in that area is getting out of hand.
It is unsightly and will most probably result in an increase is crime in the surrounding suburbs.

I like to go hike there and good to keep it clean

Eduan Bester (Centurion, 2020-07-28)

l am singing while it is not nice to settle in a natural reserve illegally and harm the trees. When the trees finished, they may move to next place.

Nature also needs to be protected. We need safe places where we can walk, relax and spend time with family.
There are more than enough other places to live.

The informal settlement is causing harm to the protected area

Celia Elliott (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

The pollution in the area is disgusting. They are also killing all wildlife that there is remaining, and they are cutting down trees in a protected area.

Lorenzo Pucciatti (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

#2251

I’m fed up with land invading as people please. They must obey the law like everyone else. And that is the little bit of nature we still have left can we just leave it alone.

Gido Horn (Tshwane, 2020-07-28)

We need to stop invasion of protected land. Once it gets out of hand, it will be a situation that nobody will be able to handle. Government will be put in a position that they will not be able to act. Act immediately!

Hannes Otto (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

The orderly administration in Tshwane is disintegrating daily, laws, regulations, zoning restrictions and public safety are deteriorating at an alarming rate. No provision is being made for a place to stay, therefore they destroy precious habitats and create security hazards.

Lynette Nagel (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

#2338

I live near the area in question and with children, security and physical safety is a real concern. Also environmental concerns needs to be addressed by authorities. Looking after the eco system in my area is one of my reasons for always paying my municipal taxes on time.

I am paying monthly for municipal services, why must I pay for this if my property value and security is threatened and the municipality allow this, then I can also stop to pay for rates and taxes on my property and rather use that funds to protect myself and my family or stay like them for free.

Frank Kemp (Pretoria, 2020-07-28)

#2356

I have extreme concerns about public safety in the area as a result of this informal settlement. This is a platform for crime and must receive Tshwane Council attention immediately.

I do not believe that we as citizens should be paying for governments inability to provide adequate housing to citizens and paid alot for my property and continue to do so on a monthly basis so find it unfair that they can set up an informal settlement so close to our homes
