Petition for 20mph speed limit through Scholes Village

This petition calls for the implementation of a 20mph speed limit through Scholes Village, Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

20 mph is the MAXIMUM SAFE SPEED to drive through the village. This is due to the very narrow road, blind summits and bends, and narrow / non-existent pavements. 

According the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, a speed limit of 20mph can cut the chance of lethal injury by 10%.

Lowering the current 30mph limit to 20mph will therefore significantly reduce the risk posed to motorists, as well as the considerable number of walkers, runners, cyclists, horses and cattle moving through Scholes.

It is our duty as members of this community to champion safety for all.
