We, the family of the Late Farouk Schoeman are petitioning against the senseless murder of our dear son, nephew, cousin and friend over a R50.

He was murdered on the evening of Sunday, 17 November 2024. His lifeless body was found on the corners of Petunia Street and AZ Berman Drive after being badly beaten and he sustained stabbed wounds to his chest.

Farouk is the son of Soraya Schoeman, a crime fighter in the Mitchell's Plain area.
He was loved by many for his character.
As stated by many of his neighbours, they could attest to the fact that he was a good boy, helpful, and full of life and was raised with good manners. Like many, he fell prey and struggled with drug usage having plans of becoming clean. This had not changed who he was and the values instilled in him was evident daily. Even though he used drugs, he was not affiliated to any gangs.

We urge you to please show your support in signing the petition so no bail will be granted. As we mourn the lost of a loved one we believe that justice should prevail.
