 I am acquainted with the registers.  They can be accessed at National Library of Ireland, Kildare Street Dublin.  Seamus MacManus, famous Donegal writer early 1900s, in his tome (it is big) in the Famine chapter writes that at that time there were schooners who exited the country with lots of people who were never counted.
