No Sanction No War on Iranian people: Canadian inhumane position

Dear Prime Minsiter Harper and Premier McGuinty,

WE THE UNDERSIGNED hereby Petition are against of the unjustified and inhumane position of Government of Canada for applying sanctions, hawkish attitude and action that directly harms Iranian people in Iran, Canada and around the world.

These sanctions will only put undue pressure on Iranian people inside Iran whom are already under sanctions since 1980, and not the undemocratic regime. Also Iranian residents outside of Iran who care about their relatives back home, with untold consequences of the sanctions on their lives and businesses, will face extra suffers: from the community in addition to the global view of people around the world. People left Iran only because of the Iranian regime. The current sanctions from Civil plane parts to Oil and gas industries, Banking systems and even dentistry materials are all targeting individuals' incomes and
people’s life style, not the regime. We believe sanctions should only be firmly applied and limited to the regime and not to the people.

Supporting the war on the other hand will only put millions of peoples’ lives at risk and will ruin the economy of several countries on both sides as proven in the Iraq and Afghanistan war.  This would not bring stability and peace to the region. We believe war is not a solution of any kind and a country’s will should only be set by its own people.

Also, we strongly condemn the violation of human rights in Iran according to United Nations’ reports and this matter would be resolved by negotiations and political pressure and not by sanctions and military operation against people.

جنابان نخست وزیر، هارپر و مک گینتی
ما امضاءکنندگان این درخواست، با موضع‌گیری غیرمنصفانه و غیرانسانی دولت کانادا در تحریم و برخورد جنگ طلبانه‌اش، که مستقیما به ضرر مردم ایران، چه در داخل، چه در کانادا و چه در سراسر دنیا می‌باشد، مخالف ایم

اینگونه تحریم‌ها فشار شدیدی را نه به حکومت غیر دموکراتیک ایران، بلکه  به مردمی در داخل ایران وارد می‌آورد که همچنان از سال 1980 زیر فشار تحریم‌ها زندگی می‌کنند. همچنین ایرانی‌هایی که در خارج از ایران زندگی می‌کنند و نگران بستگان خویش در ایران هستند در مقابل پیامدهای غیر بررسی شده‌ای بر زندگی و شغل خویش قرار می‌گیرند که از دو جهت داخل جامعه ایرانی و جامعه جهانی زیر فشار خواهند بود. آنانی که ایران را فقط بواسطه شرایط حکومتی آن ترک کرده‌اند. این تحریم از قطعات هواپیمای مسافربری گرفته تا نفت و گاز، بانک‌ها و حتی مواد دندانپزشکی، همگی به سوی درآمد تک تک ایرانیان و زندگی مردم نشانه رفته‌اند و نه به سوی حکومت. ما معتقدیم که تحریم‌ها فقط و فقط بایستی با شدت تمام به حکومت محدود شود و نه مردم


از طرف دیگر، حمایت از جنگ، زندگی میلیونها نفر را به مخاطره خواهد انداخت و همانگونه که در افغانستان وعراق ثابت شده است، اقتصاد کشورهای درگیر را به ویرانی خواهد کشاند. جنگ ثبات و صلح را برای منطقه به ارمغان نخواهد آورد. ما معتقدیم که جنگ هرگز راه حلی برای مسائل نیست بلکه فقط خواست مردم خود آن کشورها نتیجه بخش خواهد بود


بعلاوه ما برطبق گزارش سازمان ملل، بشدت نقض حقوق بشر را در ایران محکوم می‌کنیم و معتقدیم که این مشکل بایستی از طریق مذاکره و فشار سیاسی حل شود نه از طریق تحریم و عملیات نظامی برعلیه مردم
