Being Austrian and Viennese, I care immensly about the maintainenance of my home town's cultural, and particularly architectural, heritage. Villa Beer is an architectural monument from the interwar period of significant importance and ought to be preserved precisely the way it was conceived by its creator. In fact no one would dare to alter the interior structures of nearby Schoenbrunn Palace; it is time that Austrian authorities as well as the public acknowledge that 20th century architecture shares the same value and therefore deserves the same protection as our Baroque herittage.
