It is so important to the family to have the memorial bench in their home town of Lisburn, close to friends and family.

Robbie Dad Vernon was a good friend and they are a great family who have suffered more than enough can’t believe they are even being made to fight for this in their own home city AND CANNOT BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD DISPUTE THIS!!!

Karl McGrath (Lisburn, 2024-07-12)

#811

This would be a great gesture from the council, who represent the people of Lisburn, to this young mans family.

Martin Griffin (Lisburn, 2024-07-12)

#812

To have somewhere for the family to sit together and have the memories of everything and the memory of Robbie next to his family seems the right thing to do.

James Cleland (Lisburn, 2024-07-12)

#815

Because Alison is family and I know how much her and Vernie are already suffering and Robbie would want whatever helps his parents as they are a very close family and they are all born and reared in Lisburn as is Alison and my family from many generations! It’s where it belongs! Love you all Alison good luck sweetheart 🙏❤️

It is absolutely the right thing to do the bench is a personal family memorial and should be closest to where family have been laid to rest and where family visit to find comfort, I lost my son and spend time by his resting place on a seat I honestly don’t know what the issue is here.

Sheila Minford (, 2024-07-13)

#822

This family needs this to happen it would be lovely for them to have their sons place to remember him along side where there other loved ones who are laid to rest beside it and they would be able too go and have time remembering them altogether.

I knew Robert and know his parents there all from Lisburn and are a very well thought of family i also know that they are a very close family and this is very important for them to have there son memorial bench beside there other loved ones in Blairs cemetery where they can go and sit and reflect on their special memories of their loved ones all together it’s only right that it should be in Lisburn as Robert was a very popular young man in our community also and he has lots off friends who would also like to go and attend the beautiful personal bench in his memory

Joan Bradford (Lisburn, 2024-07-13)

Went through school with Alison and still friends i know how much her and her husband are grieving there son they’re heartbroken and i believe the bench being closer to them would let them and there other 2boys along with their grandson(Robbie wee boy) who lives with them be able to attend more often and give them some comfort and also if his son wants to attend he has it within his distance to go to i believe it should be in Lisburn as they all live there

Leanne Chambers (Lisburn, 2024-07-14)

I knew Robbie, played football with him and he also played football for me. Was a great lad (despite being a Liverpool supporter- I used to always wind him up as a Man U fan) and he was great with my son too.

Mark Fenton (Lisburn, 2024-07-14)

I’m signing because I feel the memorial bench would be better relocated to lisburn as per the families wishes, as it will help ease the grief that no doubt they are still going through.

It’s such a small request that it seems childish for the officials to veto it . I hope and pray they see compassion and sense. No one can feel or understand the grief this family have but them.
